So at this pace, we're looking at a 9 hour game if we don't count extra innings? The Brits will love it. Cricket test matches last for days.

Smoltz says he doesn't know if Chavis' homer would be out in a lot of parks, even though it was hit to the deepest part of this one.
It was 110 mph/425 ft.

Smoltz knows absolutely nothing about knuckle balls.

Smoltz knows absolutely nothing about knuckle balls. Didn’t he experiment with one during his protracted mid career comeback attempt.

Wright's Knuckleball is so nasty and Vazquez is the best catcher I have seen catch a Knuckleball.

Hard to believe that Porcello won a CT Young and hard to believe that he will be with us next year.... Not under contract next year.

Sweet. Knuckleball chaos energy seems like a good fit for this situation.

Smoltz knows absolutely nothing about knuckle balls. Didn’t he experiment with one during his protracted mid career comeback attempt. Yeah he just mentioned that. But he failed to mention that it's the bad knuckle balls that get hit hard and that the good ones are literally unhittable. The best knuckle ball pitcher doesn't have the best knuckle ball. They throw the least bad ones.

Put up a crooked number here!
Wait a crooked number in this game is 27 runs.
Well half a crooked number will do.
I think the sox cardio will outlast the Yankees.

Devers didn't even turn his hips on that double. It was all arms. And still a 95 mph EV.

The league has announced that after this game, meat pies, bangers and mashed and fish and chips are banned having been deemed PED's.

In honor of the historic games and for the first time in God only knows how long, I've made up a batch of Sloppy Joe's for game time. We couldn't find the original in the stores (and don't even know if they are still in business) so we went with an internet recipe that sounded about right. They came out great. Since this is a recipe sharing kind of web site, here it is, vegans need not apply: www.allrecipes.com/recipe/220182/homemade-sloppy-joes/Funny, we're making these tomorrow. food52.com/recipes/26264-vegan-lentil-sloppy-joesDon't knock it till you try it! Not going to act like it is exactly the same, but it scratches the itch.

There might not be a nastier pitch in baseball than the Stephen Wright Knuckleball.

There might not be a nastier pitch in baseball than the Stephen Wright Knuckleball. If Wright can give them 3 2/3 or more of this, they might pull it off. Also, I’m a bit surprised Cora didn’t stretch Brewer out a little and squeeze another inning from him. The walks are still a problem and he’s sporting an awful .350 BABIP against, but he’s been pretty good after the initial struggles to start the year. I think they’ve got something in both him and Taylor. This is going to be an interesting game management chess match. They better hope Eddie can pull off another solid 7-inning outing tomorrow cuz the bullpen’s gonna be juiced unless Wright really does something special here.

Reminder that the knuckleball is an awful pitch and it’s a joke the Red Sox continue to employ someone who throws it.
