We just need to put this weekend in the rear view mirror and take it one game at a time from here on out.
If the starting pitching can step up, will determine our fate this season.

Tie game with a runner on 3rd for Minnesota in the bottom of the frame. Twins win. That was a wild game. Red Sox 4 behind Cleveland and 3 behind Tampa and Oakland. Edit: Correction, they're 2 behind Tampa.

Well one thing for sure, games like either of the last two won't test the pen utility of Eovaldi.

I mean, I don't get why people think this is an impossible scenario. Imagine being John Henry and you're paying more than anyone else in baseball and you're team is 3, 4, 5 games out of the 2nd, not even the 1st WC spot. I'd be pissed if I were him. I could see him wanting to scale back costs if they're not even going to contend this year.

First, he made his money on legal betting, he is probably used to not having things always go his way. Second, he will still make money this year. Third, he once owned the Marlins and we essentially gifted a cash cow that continues to bring in bank....because of the fans. Frustrated... certainly..pissed...I doubt it.....s

This notion that we should all be grateful for Henry's generosity is so backwards. He makes money off of our fandom. He owes more than we owe him.

You realize he's still making squillions of dollars off this team, right? Not only that, but reducing investments at times like this is a sure way to depress your business value. When you get to metaphysical amounts of money you never think short term.

This notion that we should all be grateful for Henry's generosity is so backwards. He makes money off of our fandom. He owes more than we owe him. He is spending more money than every single owner in baseball. That includes the Dodgers and Yankees. They're out of the playoffs by 3 games to teams spending a fraction of what he does. This team, this year has been a bad investment. Fans should be eternally grateful of his spending. It's not like the Red Sox never had cheap ownership before. If they go on a tear over the next 9 days this is all moot.
