Since June 1, Erasmo Ramirez has throw 70 innings with a 3.34 ERA, is .226/.287/.387, 51K, only 20 BB. A little bit of BABIP luck (.250), but he's been pretty decent and he can eat innings. He's not **the answer** but at this point I think I see whether they can get lucky on a guy who might be better than Cashner/Johnson/Velazquez anyway.
Anyway, now that I've posted that Toledo will light him up for nine runs in 2 1/3.

Tanner Houck got the start instead. Appears Erasmo is coming up.

10 SO's (and no BB;s) through 5IP for Bello. 6 hits and 3 ER's though. Still have to love that K rate!
ADD: Hard to tell what happened, but in both the 3rd and 4th, a runner score from 1st base on 2B.

He frightens me with MLB caliber hitters now playing with juiced balls

Jimenez can really hit for his age Saw he got a triple Must’ve been a ground ball into the hole Duran with a triple and a steal, Marcus Wilson with a homer Castellanos with 3 hits and his 10th steal

Duran's steal was his 40th of the year. Daniel McGrath walked the bases loaded in the first and then turned back into 2019 Daniel McGrath. It was the first time since he moved permanently to the rotation in late Junethat he gave up two runs.

Unfortunately missed Lowell last night and tonight due to this weekend's Saber Seminar. Alex Speier's Twitter has some highlights.

It was the first time since he moved permanently to the rotation in late Junethat he gave up two runs. Only one was earned but it did move his ERA up to 1.35 at AA. He should be getting close to qualified for the league lead soon. EDIT: I believe this game gave him enough innings to qualify. He should now be the Eastern League ERA leader at 1.35 with second being Alex Wells of the Bowie BaySox at 2.11 who is interestingly also an Aussie. I'm guessing this is the first time that has happened.

Anyone remember this (quote from Google)?
Pitcher: Clay Buchholz, Boston Red Sox Buchholz is a Texas high school sprint champion. There were also rumors that he beat former teammate and fellow speedster, Jacoby Ellsbury, in a race, but apparently the Red Sox were against that ever happening or at least being known that it happened.
I also remember some player saying it happened and Clay won.
A race between Duran and Jiminez would be interesting.

There was talk of that race but it never happened.
Jimenez is measurably faster than Duran, at least home to first in-game. Doesn't mean I wouldn't watch it though!

The time Duran put up earlier this year first home to second including an early slide would have been the 4th fastest in MLB 2018 season. It'd be interesting. My guess, the winner would depend on the length of the race. ADD: I believe it was Nava who said it happened but wouldn't say who won.

Hm. The Nava thing does sound familiar now that you mention it, so tip of the cap on that one.
Where did you get that about the Duran time?

Ian got Gilberto at 3.54, as I recall. That's serious.
The Lowell offense has been sputtering, but not Jimenez - they had only nine hits in the doubleheader, and he had five of them.

I believe a tweet from Red Sox Stats (SoxScout) (originating from Bannister ?) when the time was measured by frames not stopwatches. I had already done a measurement by video eyeball and came up with 7.45. I think they came up with 7.35. It blew me away because it was on a line drive pretty much at the right fielder.

I had already done a measurement by video eyeball and came up with 7.45. I think they came up with 7.35 OK, right. That was a time to second base. Forgot it if I'd seen it. Speed is almost always measured by times to 1B. I just looked and I do have a 3.96 for Duran, which is about 75 speed, so maybe it's closer than I gave it credit for. Like I said, if they put that on I'm there.

I've also seen sub 3.9 times for Duran which is 80 grade. That said, I'm not overly enamored with the accuracy of stopwatch measures. I'm sure the Sox know for sure.

Seems like remember the organization was against one ever happening. bucholz was always made of glass moreso than was Ells and what good would have come out of it?

Boy the last few years Ells has been paper mache. We gave the Yankees a poison pill. When I saw, on video, Duran leg out a double, I was amazed at his speed. Envisioning even more from Jimenez..."measurably faster" is hard, but joyous, to conceive. Arrived in Portland yesterday so I am hopeful to get to a couple of games.
