Edit: He doesn't get the win, Workman does. At least that is better.

Sad that Barnes gave up the Eddie win and then he wins with the walkoff. Typical of the whole season. yep, one of the more annoying ways this game could go. fitting.

And so this rotten disappointing aggravating season comes to an end and they can't even give us an E-Rod milestone to appreciate. I don't care that 20 wins isn't a useful analytical tool. It's still a huge milestone and rarity for a pitcher and being the balls busting season it has been the Sox even manage to find a way to squander his 20th win. Naturally a 2 out 2 strike hit by the bullpen to blow it.
And so at that point the best thing the Sox can do is lose and get the 16th pick but they can't even manage that because Mookie Betts is too good of a baserunner.
This might be the most disappointing season given expectations that the Red Sox have had in the 40 years I've watched. There have been plenty of worse seasons, but this year went as badly as could have been hoped for.
Good riddance to the 2019 Red Sox.
