And there go the Braves. splat..after being 4 outs away from advancing. They're down 4-0 in the 1st and they're not even out of the inning yet. And now 9-0. WTF? Yeah. I saw that score and did a triple take. St. Louis is still batting in the first!

I feel sorry for Braves fans that splurged on this game. I'd already be leaving.
The Cardinals only out in their first 11 batters was a sac bunt!

I looked at ESPN's play-by-play as I missed the 1st inning and couldn't determine how the 10th run scored. How did the 10th run score?

Cardinals have had a winning culture in place for a long time. I didn’t feel good about this game going into today. You have to knock them out when you get the chance. Braves had their chance in game 4 and let it slip away.
If you were the Cardinals manager, would you consider resting Flaherty today so he’s ready to go for Game 1 in NLCS? Or is this a “He’s already warmed up so we’re pitching him” type of situation you see with closers sometimes?

I hate that I’m 20% cheering for the Dodgers tonight because I think they have a better chance of beating the Cardinals.

What's worse? Losing a playoff football game (try not to consider that it was the Super Bowl) when being up 28-3 late in the 3rd quarter? Or giving up 10 runs in the first inning of a deciding playoff series?

Yup. 14 straight post-season appearances, alot of them with Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddux making starts, and yet they win just once. Then 28-3 - Atlanta had it and blew it. Even when it was 28-20, Julio Jones made that catch and makeable FG would have given them the SB - and they stupidly got sacked and then penalized and taken out of FG range. Misery is right. Their only championship was at the expense of Cleveland which has had much sports misery of their own.

Braves bullpen retired final 16 batters. Isn't it ironic ...

Playoff Joe Kelly is quite capable of being a beast. He dominated the 9th inning in decisive Game 5. That was the Joe Kelly the Sox had in the playoffs last year. His stuff was nasty.

You gotta feel for Kershaw at this point. His inability to be effective in the post-season is a major contributor to why the Dodgers have been unable to win a World Series during this stretch.

Roberts managed this game horribly. absolutely terribly, though I won't feel bad to see the Dodgers lose.

I think Dave Roberts has some explaining to do after this one.

If Mookie is really getting traded this offseason(please no) this is a good day for his trade market. Braves and dodgers having disappointing endings to the season helps us.

I think Dave Roberts has some explaining to do after this one. How do you explain going for a second joe kelly inning before u go to Jansen for his first? U really don’t in my opinion

You gotta feel for Kershaw at this point. His inability to be effective in the post-season is a major contributor to why the Dodgers have been unable to win a World Series during this stretch. I think that Moneyball and stuff like fangraphs or even firejoemorgan got us a bit too paranoid on labeling someone as clutch or unclutch since that would make us sound like antiquated old timers. At this point it's at least fair to question if Kershaw can ever get over that hump and if can't, should that be taken against him when people decide whether or not he was the best pitcher of his generation?

Man, what is Dave Roberts' deal? How how how is Joe Kelly in for the 9th and 10th innings of this game?
IBB right before the grand slam is a cherry on top.

Very happy with this latest Dodger outcome. Didn't even like staying there. I'm bummed that Astros are having trouble but more than happy to see Dodgers go down.
