Disagree completely. I guess I should've added that in that scenario, those who forget about Jimenez would be wrong to do so. He's legit been hitting from the left side for like 2 years. They should absolutely be trying to get him to do more than slap the ball. And for those unaware, "slap the ball" here isn't like, a line drive gap-to-gap approach that drives the ball all over the field that you'd be worrying about screwing up - something you might see with someone like Jarren Duran, for example. For Jimenez, it's more like a rudimentary meet-the-ball approach, but with exceptional hand-eye coordination and athleticism. This. 100%. If that's where the divergence was with us, jimed, Dunnzo has laid it out perfectly here. With his current LH swing, I don't think Jimenez is better than a 9 hole hitter in MLB. His SS-A numbers were so good because he's stupid fast. As I've mentioned, it's not just beating out groundballs to the left - I saw him turn a routine base hit to CF into a stand-up double and a routine double to the gap into a triple last year. But as defenses get better, that stuff won't happen, nor will the groundballs he beat out. I think Ian's report that they were already working on this with him in Instructs, plus faith that he'll take to it, are why we're the highest outlet on him, pending MLB and The Athletic (KLaw) releasing their lists this month.

Could be cheating since he hasn't pitched yet but I'm betting on Chih-Jung Liu. For a guy who dominated a level of competition much higher than most of our prospects have seen, he's really not getting much fanfare. What level is that? Honest question making sure I haven't missed something. I was just referring to the Asian Baseball Championship Tournament (It seems about AAA level of competition). It's not much but leaves something to dream on.

Premier12 had better competition and I'd have pegged that as somewhere between AAA and AA. There were really only even 3 legit teams in the ABC (Japan, Korea, Taiwan). The other teams got smoked every time they played one of those 3, save for China keeping up in a few games.

In fairness though, I do think Liu's appearances came against Japan, Korea, and Japan (again in the final). I might be missing one but he seemed to be saved for the higher leverage/competitive situations, or it happened by chance based on his availability. I do think its fair to say the level of competition he faced is at least above where he is projected to pitch this year.

I was looking for them after Chris asked the question but can't find much in English aside from articles referencing the tournament.

This is like HOF voting, too many guys to pick from which I love. I'm going to pick the system as a whole. I think this is the year we jump up the rankings because a bunch of guys take a big step forward.

Hopefully I don't have Chinese hackers stealing my routing numbers.
