Hey, Hill didn’t have it with a bunch of tough conditions personal and professional… yet he almost got 5 IP, gave up runs on homers that were not exactly bombs, and generally gutted out a performance that leaves the Sox a chance. I never imagined he’d be an ace or anything… as a “bad” start, this is really not that bad.

Bundy's stuff is blah, but the Red Sox approach has been terrible. Allergic to working counts today. Should've replaced "today" by "this season" lol

Big swing game for the Sox between 6-4 and 5-5 and 3-1 in this series v. 2-2, but they look completely disinterested.

Smart hitting by Verdugo. Hoping the rest of the team saw that approach.
And...here we go. Rally time.
Not a good approach at all by Shaw.
And repeated by Vazquez. Two first pitch hitters....no patience, no working the count.

Am I crazy to want Franchy over Shaw at this point? His bat speed looks terrible

I still really feel like Arroyo’s upside gets underrated.

So - this is how to turn a rally into a buzz kill. Yuck. Sure, one run. But three poor at bats to follow.

i am hoping Rich Hill can have a tremendous season for the Sox, we all want him to succeed. But it isn't great that he is on the roster at all, because of his injury history alone. It was a filler signing. To read some of the posts on this acquisition....well.

Early in the year but 3rd worst BB% in the league for our lineup. Terrible approach and it bails out bad pitchers.
Here's to hoping it's early season anxiousness.

I am a fan of Mr. Valdez - the man with the rubber arm and the elastic pitches.
Add: 2 innings, 13 pitches in reverse: tease with the hard stuff, drive them crazy with the breaking balls.

Yeah, I can live with a lineup working the count, drawing walks and swinging at strikes with nothing to show up for it but not this Gilberto Jimenez type of at bats. It's a bad process no matter what the outcome is.

Wow....we have part of the line up that is making stuff happen - we get folks on base - then the bottom of the order is killing the rally. Here we go again - top of the order rallying. Let's score some runs before death valley comes up to the plate.

Either way, that's a very bad play by Raffy. You have to know you're going to make it. Can't kill an inning.

Am I crazy to want Franchy over Shaw at this point? His bat speed looks terrible Hell, I'd settle for a left handed first baseman with zero major league experience.

Next at bat huge - could be the game. Can't squander this. And - of course - it is Arroyo. (seems this happens often). If hot him, it is CVaz, Or Bradley, or Shaw.
Huge UGH there.

JDM has looked dangerous at the plate for about six weeks out of the last three years. Not optimistic for his production this season.

Crawford's elevated fastball is one of the best pitches on the staff
