This isn’t cancel culture, this is criminal and it’s years of racist abuse to a handicapped kid that he has yet to show any contrition or accountability for. Is the argument that 14 year olds don’t know any better but to assault and call a teenage black kid with the mental capacity of a 10 YO the n word? Pretty sure every single person at that age knows it’s wrong, and I genuinely think that behavior is irredeemable and sociopathic. That’s not kids being kids and making dumb mistakes, that’s next level. It’s sadistic behavior. I mean he tried an Insta apology last week and told the kid the apology has nothing to do with him getting a hockey opportunity, and then he signed days later. He’s a clown who does not deserve the privilege of playing professional sports in the US. Perhaps if he actually showed accountability for what he did everybody would be fine with a second chance- he hasn’t. Do you wonder why the family of the victim has no problem with the other person Miller was convicted with? Because he’s not a dickless coward and he showed accountability and actually made amends with the family. Go make a career in the KHL if you want to play hockey kid The AHL also seems like they’re probably not going to let him play either. So he probably won’t play a single second in this organization, meaning this clown show of a front office caused this shitstorm with the team for nothing. The only thing this did was piss off their veteran leaders. Wouldn’t shock me if Miller is not under contract by the end of Monday. Bettman seems PISSED at the org. Fire Neely, Fire Sweeney. It’s incredible that they’re as incompetent as they are and the team is as good as it is. Didn’t even ask the league if they should do it….idiots…. Saying Sweeney and Neely should be fired is absolutely cancel culture. You aren't deemed ready by society to even drive till age 16. You can't drink or smoke till 21. Yeah he was a kid and the list of stupid shit they do is crazy long. Did you ever think maybe his family sucks and his upbringing was horrible? He's shown accountability multiple times, you just think it should be whatever you think it should be or the family. Which I understand, yet that's a big difference. He's not Irving saying he did nothing wrong. Like where is that? I wouldn't have him play right away, I'd make him work the steps for the rest of this year and see what happens. If he's truly changed then move forward, if not you cut bait. I believe in 2nd chances and that people can change, especially kids! It really isn’t- this was gross incompetence and the only reason they have a good team this year is because they got bailed out by their top 2 centers agreeing to play for peanuts. They didn’t even check with the NHL or AHL about this and went against what the veteran leaders on the team wanted- it’s BRAINDEAD. He was winning this poll for a reason after all. Miller has not shown accountability, even in his statement yesterday he diminished his own actions by referring to it as an incident. Ask the victims mom if he’s shown accountability. Why do they have no problem with the other person who victimized their son? Perhaps because he actually showed real accountability?

…and just like that Miller is released. Org says he lied to them. So like I said- he has zero accountability and the organization is a bunch of dipshits for not doing due diligence and looking into it more. Fire Neely, Fire Sweeney.

He set it with the greatest QB of all-time and already had one season under .500 since Brady left. I don't know if they're better than the 10-7 team of last year and a lot of other teams got better. How I look at the possibility of this season. @ Miami - loss @ Pitt - win Home vs Balt - loss @ GB - loss Home vs Lions - win @ Browns - loss Home vs Bears - win @ Jets - win Home vs Colts - loss Home vs Jets - win @ Vikings - loss Home vs Bills - loss @ Arizona - loss @ Raiders - loss Home vs Cincy - loss Home vs Miami - win @ Buffalo - loss To me, that's 6-11. They could easily win the Browns game and lose the Bears one. They'll likely win a surprise game and have a surprising loss. I don't think they have the roster or the coaches and think they're a notch below the middle teams like the Raiders and Colts. I don't think they'll have an answer for the Colts running game. Kudos for predicting the wins and losses and through 8 the only 2 you did not nail, you said are the two that could most easily flip and they did too. So in effect even when wrong you were still right. Appreciate it! I was doing good until the Colts did Colts things lol. Thought Matty Ice would have a rejuvenation year and that Jonathan Taylor is the kind of player the Patriots would have nightmares about.

How did all of this information about Miller become public domain if he was 14? Not defending at all, just curious. I would have thought his record would have been more concealed? Then again, I just know a fair amount of what makes him a monster, but not the whole story.
Sweeney bringing in the kid isn't a fireable offense. Bringing in the kid without talking to Bettman first is. He caused all this unneeded drama for literally nothing. Had they asked, we're not talking Miller because we'd never know because they wouldn't have bothered. It's not like Sweeney has a strong track record either.
Also, way to help the Boston is racist stigma by signing a racist who picks on disabled people.
Edit: Where does it say he tormented him for 7 years? There was the one incident, but not seeing much more than that. Still an awful person.

Believe it was either the victim himself or his parents- and that checks out, bullying isn’t typically a one and done scenario. And from what I read other classmates confirmed that N word stuff

This team is being mismanaged. For awhile now.

I'm pretty soured on Bloom right now. I have to agree and have to include Kennedy and ownership as well. It feels like they are asking someone to dance just as the music is ending. If Xander was priority 1, then he should have been wrapped up prior to other clubs jumping in. Same for Devers. They clearly don't want to pay top dollar before the player hits free agency. They let them test the market but they risk other teams throwing big dollars and crazy years at these guys. Not sure of what their plan is going forward to sign top players so they have a strong mix of established players and upcoming prospects.

That's the problem with this poll. What it's really asking is which GM would fans want to replace most. Who is most likely to be replaced comes down to how inline they are with ownership's plans.

I hope Belichick is next. Really thought Bloom would get a chance with an open purse to build on his strong core. Terrible at the ML level though, but he did have somewhat of a tight rope to walk. Belichick was my vote to be the first one phased out. Looks like it just came down to who had their season first.

I hope Belichick is next. Sweeney is most definitely next.

I hope Belichick is next. Sweeney is most definitely next. Probably, but I do think/hope this is Belichick's final season with the Patriots. I cant imagine after they go 3-14 or 4-13 or 5-12 that the Krafts are going to be passive and let it continue to fester. I think theyll part ways after the season. Either that or there will be an ultimatum that if Belichick continues on as the Patriots coach to chase the win record that theyll hire somebody else (please!) To make the personnel moves.

I think we have such a poor understanding of what a GM's job is (at least to the person who is going to hire/fire them).

BILL BELICHICK EVER GETTING FIRED LMAO How quickly a year changes things. Yes, I'm just being a bum. Bloom ended up edging Bill by the simple fact the Red Sox season ended first.

And Don Sweeney (my vote) is looking pretty comfortable for the time being.
Fun to revisit, and note that despite the longevity and success we've seen from our teams, the churn can be brutal around the sports.
