I don't want them winning the 3 point margin ... You might want to avert your eyes. Scal said recently -- based on discussions he's had with Celtics brass -- they want to lead the league in 3's per game and he thinks the "magic number" might be 50 per. I, too, prefer inside/outside basketball & hate the step-back & pull-up threes. Work to get a good shot, not what easily presents. I did like the pressuring/trapping they flashed during preseason. Hopefully that is here to stay. Anyone remember the opening game of the Pitino Era? They played the reigning world champion Bulls, were severe underdogs, but trapped & pressured the hell out of them (Tommy's love, Walter! was great at that) and got the upset win. I've since wondered, Why couldn't a team carry a pressure squad -- players 11-15 otherwise -- who could jolt a team & a fanbase for a few minutes here & there, as needed? Or a regular thing, if effective. I'll not even complain about the ugly threes if they otherwise pressed & scrapped. What's the chance?

Mazzula loves the 3 and wants them to keep taking open ones within the flow of the offense. Like it or not it’s the shot analytics says is the best to take. The key is being able to and willing to not force them and to switch up their ways of attack when they aren’t falling. They got Porzingis to have a post presence and Tatum has been working on his post game this offseason for this same reason. Get easy baskets and to the foul line. 3 pointers are here to stay but the key is being able to be dangerous in other ways too.

Well of course the Magic didn't trade Cole Anthony, he took the biggest team friendly extension of anyone over the last few days. I just don’t know how his agent allows Josh Green to get a bigger one, that's crazy!
Well if you want to win multiple ways and only take 3 points shots within the offense you shouldn't be talking about winning 3 point shot margins or OMG taking 50 per game.
Shot analytics, where is the cutoff on when too many 3 point shots starts to hurt you? If they don't have a number for that, then it's a useless stat for me. Yeah you need to take a bunch of 3 point shots, but they come and go even for the best players. Unlike easy baskets at the rim through ball movement, which also get you more FTs. In playoffs some teams can get hot from deep and make a run, they don't win championship though. It never lasts that long.
I want them focusing inside then out and have no problem with good 3 point shots within the offense. Example both Tatum and Brownd 3 point efficiency tanked because they took too many of the wrong type of 3 point shots last year. That's not what you want.
