Pretty damn good DSL stars as meaningless as that may be. Not bad!

That looks like too much movement. If he can keep all those pitches close to the strike zone. He could be something.

If I could throw a frisbee like that, it's probably all I'd throw, too.

Oh good, there getting some cash considerations back. I was getting concern about the cash considerations we already paid out.

2022 New York Yankees IFA SigningsDiego Hernandez, RHP, Mexico, $25K Diego is a 17-year-old pitcher from Puebla. Hernandez is another international prospect that caught Lee Sigman’s eye. Owner of a 91-mile fastball, a great repertoire of breaking pitches, including a good slider, the second-year high school student at the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla (UPAEP), Hernandez’s father and uncle were both very good players in the Zaragoza League in Mexico

Seems like a decent get for a guy I figured they'd lose for nothing.

He adds a couple ticks to the fastball and he could end up a useful reliever with that slider he has (which looks pretty good for a teen)
That boy skinny!

why would the yankees trade anything for greg allen Same reason they gave Rodon a 6 year guarantee- they have no clue what they’re doing!

why would the yankees trade anything for greg allen Greg Allen is fine as a major league 5th OF. Possibly he is the best available such guy that can be had for freeish and there was a mini bidding war.
Getting Diego Hernandez looks like a nice piece of business for the Sox, but realistically he was probably like the FCL Yankees #7 starter even before the draft picks arrive

Seems like a decent get for a guy I figured they'd lose for nothing. Not to derail the Greg Allen thread but Chris, when is Alfaro's opt out or mobility clause deadline?

Yet they haven't come close to a losing season in 30 years, so yeah, absolutely clueless. White knighting the Yankees on a Red Sox message board, sickening! No white knighting. I loathe the Yankees as much as everybody here, but I don't find them to be a "stupid" organization. Doesn't mean they don't make mistakes, though, as Garrett Whitlock says hello. Hopefully the lotto ticket the Sox got for Allen turns into something useful. The odds aren't great on him even being a fringy major leaguer/AAAA player like Allen is. That said, I think the Sox did well to even get a lottery ticket for a scrapheap guy like Allen. I'll be rooting for him to turn into something. My favorite moment of 2021 was Whitlock turning the lights out on the Yankees season. If Hernandez turns out to be anything like that, I'll be over the moon.

Unfortunately, it looks like Hernandez is out for the year recovering from an elbow issue, per Peter Abraham. Still seems like a good roll of the dice in exchange for a guy who was about to walk away for nothing anyway.
