Brainer looks like he's filled out considerably since last year.
I think Hunter Noll is looking for attention with making up his own idiotic nicknames. Very unprofessional approach. Why on Earth would someone named Brainer need a nickname ?

Eddinson Paulino also with two home runs (and a double) I followed him and Bonaci closely last year and noticed they kept leapfrogging one another in average as they moved around the infield. Bonaci has moved ahead in terms of BA this season. We'll see who gets to the top rung first.

Why on Earth would someone named Brainer need a nickname ? He posts twitter clips of Sox prospects, why on earth does he need to be “professional”? Bones is a good nickname FWIW. Especially since half the fan base will butcher Bonaci

Hunter Noll is a positive member of the larger community and reads these forums. If you get slightly annoyed at him hyping up a player as you are enjoying the highlight he posted, how about you just swallow that like an adult instead of trashing him

All of the so-called "professional" sports media personalities who generate wildly exaggerated or outright false negative content in desperate attempts to secure an extra few clicks or seconds of talk time are the "unprofessional" ones, it seems to me. I'll continue to appreciate genuine enthusiasm (and easy access to all of the highlight clips)

What % percentage of mlb players have a nickname among their fellow players that is the first syllables of their last name by itself or plus -s or -y or -sy?

Haha yeah I had a post typed up earlier about how half of the players in the league have awful nicknames on their official player page but ended up deleting it. I can take or leave the energy level in the tweets sometimes, I appreciate it but sometimes it’s a little corny but really at the end of the day he’s providing us with a ton of value with all of the video and that’s super appreciated, calling him unprofessional just for being excited is a pretty terrible look

Apologies, unprofessional was an over-reaction. I do watch his videos and they are valuable to me.
I believe that most nicknames that stick are the ones the players use with each other.
