Platoon advantage occurs less often for RHB. It’s sort of another hurdle for a pool of players who are already generally adding little on the defensive side. At least the LH 1B has the platoon advantage significantly more often.
To put numbers to this, in 2022, there were 36880 plate appearances between RHB / LHP. For LHB / RHP, there were 59055 plate appearances. LHB got 61.6% of the total platoon advantage PA; RHB got 38.4%. There are more right handed pitchers in MLB, year in year out.
EDIT: that said, you do have a point - this kind of orthodoxy would have dismissed Pete Alonso, Paul Goldschmidt and Rhys Hoskins out of hand.

I don’t think Blaze will start getting rated highly until he hits in AA, and even then he’ll still have to hit a lot in AAA just to sniff a role on a big league roster
Nobody is saying he won’t or can’t do it, he’s just going to have a higher bar to clear than most as a RHH 1B. It actually wouldn’t shock me if he ends up like Hoskins, I think there is room for him to grow into being a fun big league hitter. He has a ways to go but he has potential.
But if he hits in AA I think you’ll start seeing more national attention

Curious if anyone has thoughts around when a promotion might happen for Blaze. Seems like Kavadas might need to be promoted first. Are we looking at August/September here?

Passing along a funny story. My son’s friend interns for the team in Manchester. Someone was trying to find the player’s entrance 6-7 hours before the game the other day. 1st one there, polite kid… Marcelo. He was dh tonight. A couple hits. Moves well.

Separate note, Hickey also has an awesome stat line, what's the thought on his bat does he have obvious swing holes?

FCL has a weird schedule quirk where they won't play July 8 through July 12. I imagine Mikey Romero will head back up to Salem then (assuming he's close to ready). This schedule quirk is called the All-Star Break and every stateside affiliate is off. 😂 Sorry, had to.

Monegro's velo down to 90-93 Working in the slider more, doesn't look like a good pitch right now More change ups, getting some whiffs on it Curveball still great The fastball was never that low. If that's what the broadcast said, it's wrong. He was 94-96 early, was more like 93-95 late.

True, although FCL doesn't play on that Saturday for whatever reason while the other stateside affiliates are playing (and the other affiliates play on Sunday, too).

That was from the Fredericksburg broadcast graphic that lists the velo after every pitch

But finding a lineup spot for him, assuming he makes it to The Show, could be hard. DH is the obvious thought, but that would mean leaving Masa in LF and I don't like that either. We're already heavy with LHH who can't field. We have Masa, Duran, Devers and Casas as regulars. We have Hickey on the way. We've seen E. Valdez and David Hamilton and their gloves pretty much disqualify them as future ML regulars. It's good that we'll have MM and Baby Raffy to fill two spots with good defense. But they'll also add to the drastic imbalance of LHH vs. RHH that we already have.

Already have some similar profiles in the big league lineup I also reread what I wrote and I phrased it like an idiot lol, I think ppl get what I mean tho

I look at my unrivaled idiocy as my way of honoring the 2004 team every day that I'm on this earth.
