I wasn't able to watch last night. How'd it go? Pretty well? It was the quickest off switch I’ve had all year! Right after Palmieri had a hattrick 13 min into the game lol

Don't know if you guys are following these rumors. Supposedly Vancouver is looking to acquire Genteel and move Lindholm, with rumors that he could be coming here.
Crazy.

I have mixed feelings on the player, tbh but I really want this to happen just so we can see what the depreciation (if any) there is on a player who was just traded less than a month ago.
Is it like a car? The minute it's off the lot, it loses value?
Ty Anderson took the rumor and thought JDB made some sense for Pittsburgh. They get a preview of his fit with Sidney and see if they can get a comparable player (to Guentzel) at a lower price.
Obviously, other pieces would have to be involved.

This team can be so infuriating. It feels like every game we get out to a lead just to blow it with less than 2 minutes left and lose in OT. Good thing there’s no 3 on 3 in the playoffs.

Keep losing games because we can't win a face-off in the D zone at crucial times. Meanwhile, the best guy we have at it is in Providence because Montgomery doesn't like him for some reason.

On the bright side 3 on 3 isn’t in the playoffs
Not gonna win many skill competitions vs Mcdavid and Drai unfortunately. The 6 on 5 thing is just a mental block at this point

More rumors of that 3 way with Pitt/Van swirling Lindholm would solve a lot of problems. His game mimic Patrice Bergeron

More rumors of that 3 way with Pitt/Van swirling Seems less likely today. Talk of Guentzel going elsewhere.

Fat Pat is in the house!
Bruins acquire Patrick Maroon from the wild for Luke Toporowski and a conditional 6th
He would have been fun to have in last nights game. He comes back from injury in a couple weeks

Maroon is fine. Doesn't move needle really, but adds a bit of toughness etc. Didn't cost much. Fine move.
The Peeke deal is absolutely baffling. He barely plays for a bad team largely because he's been bad. The Athletic posted his advanced stat numbers and they are some of the worst in the league. He's a RHD, which the team didn't have a need for. Signed for two more years, we just basically gave up 10% of the cap space we had to work with in the offseason. And it cost us a 3rd.
That's like an F+ trade. I can't wrap my head around it at all. Some promise for sure, but his trade value was a negative, not a guy you're giving up draft capital to acquire.

Peeke has been a solid player in the past, he hasn’t done well with the Jackets coaching/system change this year. They’re such a bad organization that getting him away from there should help him a bunch. Still young- big, physical, mobile, tough. They clearly feel their structure will help him out and I agree.
Worst case scenario he’s a cheap buyout too due to his age, so if he continues to crater it’s not really a big deal. Not that I think that would happen.
Im not so sure his trade value was negative around the league- big/mobile/physical RH defenseman are tough to come by. If he was playing at his usual level this year you’re talking about giving up a 1st or a 2nd+ to get him- that’s what Jackets fans expected his value to be this time last year. The system change really impacted him more than perhaps anybody else on that team, from what I understand there is too much relying on him to get the puck out vs past years (cbj fan feedback).
I wanted them to add some toughness today, glad they did. Peeke will hit everything around him, he might actually be a worse fighter than Wotherspoon though lol

Anyone have thoughts on Ullmark activating his no-trade clause - likely blocked additional deal(s)

Anyone have thoughts on Ullmark activating his no-trade clause - likely blocked additional deal(s) He did in fact block a trade, it's been reported. Who was saying since the off-season and just about 1 week ago they best way to upgrade the team, who lost 2 centers, was to trade from your strength to cover your weakness, this guy right here. My Pedroia hurt caption should be, I hate to tell you I told you so but.......Now I have absolutely no issues with Ullmark at all but for the teams sake I'm disappointed because we are 4/5 the way through the season, Swayman is clearly a #1 type goalie whose well rested. We have a good goalie down in Providence, so Ullmark's absence for this season would have little impact but the players he could have returned well that's a different story and now we'll never really know just how different it could have been.
