Story is one of the worst signings in team history. Not really his fault and he seems like a good guy but he's probably missing a lot of time from the looks of it. Not even close, even if you want to blame the team for not magically anticipating his future injuries.

If you move Ceddanne to SS he's potentially the best defender they have on the roster for that spot. The outfield defense of say O'Neill, Duran, Abreu should still be decent. Idk if that's the route they go, but this sucks.

Soooo…. There’s def no way Grissom and Valdez can coexist in the MIF… right?

Man, I do feel bad for Story. Dude gets injured because he plays his tail off.

Optimistic on Story that looks like the reaction of someone who popped his shoulder out. Could be a quick fix. Obviously if it's a torn labrum that's horrendous luck.

Losing the RH bat is almost as problematic as losing the SS. We can drop a consistent glove into SS - Rafaela or Gonzales. We can’t replace the RH bat and we were already short one of those.

Hopefully Mayer has a monster year.

If that’s a (non-throwing arm) shoulder dislocation, what’s he likely looking at for missing time? As OB mentioned on the broadcast just now, O’Hoppe had left labrum tear and was out for 4 months.

Rafaela—>Duran in center is probably an equal downgrade to Story —>Reyes at short

Rafaela—>Duran in center is probably an equal downgrade to Story —>Reyes at short Therefore I keep Rafaela in center, play Reyes every day, call Romy up if Story needs the DL

Dr Jesse Morse from Twitter Hospital on Story;
@drjessemorse
“The different possibilities here include :
-Shoulder (AC) sprain -Shoulder dislocation -Fractured collarbone/clavicle
Best case scenario would be a shoulder sprain as that may only keep him out for a little bit of time.
Fractured collarbone is less likely but still possible and usually these heal in 4 to 6 weeks depending on the severity /type.
Shoulder dislocations, unfortunately, are quite common as you may remember Fernando Tatis Jr., dealing with one in the recent past.
They are very painful, and often cause injury to the surrounding capsule and often labrum. Some players get lucky, and don’t have a lot of damage, allowing them to return to play relatively quickly. “Other people aren’t so lucky and may suffer a significant labrum tear which can range from six weeks to season ending shoulder surgery.”

I really don’t get leaving Crawford in there, he clearly was cooked. Was completely uncompetitive to Rendon who can’t hit water if he fell out of a boat.

This also opens up the “400 AB’s” for Abreu that leadership was talking about. O’Neill/Duran/Abreu allows Yoshida to stay at DH and Rafaela to become a full-time SS It’s a punch in the gut, but they have depth, versatility, and multiple ways to respond.
