when is the last time we had pitchers this good (or at least with this much potential) pitching at every level, including the majors, on the same day?

Montas' ER in 5 of his 6 starts: 2,4,4,4,4. And then there's that 1H/9K/0BB in 5 IP Apr 29. Tantalizing. 0 BB in 4/6 appearances, too.
Like Almanzar though, I just keep seeing him playing his way out of the org. Can't wait for reports on how they do against good competition.

The scouts here may well shoot this down but Montas reminds me a lot of RDLR having watched both in person. They have similar body types, throw hard as far as relative gun readings go but lack finesse, skill and control. In short, they need to evolve into pitchers. Time will tell if that is possible. I am glad to see a couple of guys in our organization who reputedly can hit triple digits (altho I have not witnessed this), but today I think just about every team has that (or close) in the minors and majors. It's no longer the "oooh" and "ahhh" of seasons gone by.

Henry is off his game tonight. Gives up 5 ER and 2HR in the first. Nothing in the 2nd, so maybe he was off and made the corrections?

Rubby's changeup is a plus to better pitch though, isn't it? If Montas gets a second plus pitch, that will change his floor/ceiling pretty quick.

Does Montas still sit at 96-100 or has he grown into maybe a 94-96? I think it would be better for his arm in the long run.

Took the reins off RDLR a little bit, up to 71 pitches ... 4IP, 1H, 0R, 2BB, 7K.

Anyone know why Jose Garcia pinch ran for Cechhini in the 6th? Seems odd. Hope there's no injury.

Per Evan Lepler: HBP got Cecchini in the shoulder, skipped off him and dinged his neck. But he says he is OK, that is very good news. Scary stuff.

Glad to hear cecchini is ok.
Bard was not only wild his fastball had nothing on it. If he's not hurt he's done.

They have similar body types, throw hard as far as relative gun readings go but lack finesse, skill and control. In short, they need to evolve into pitchers. Might want to take another look at RDLR soon. Last 4 starts: 14ip, 8h, 19k, 4bb, 0r Remember, this is a guy who has already had some success starting in the majors after jumping from AA, and it's selling him short to categorize as a thrower. This is also his first full year after returning from TJ and considering command was never his biggest strength he seems to be doing really well keeping it in the zone and not getting hit. I hope we'll see him join the rotation either late this year or next spring as innings limits & opportunities allow.

Owens had a tough go.
I wonder if his start was affected by the long wait in the top half of the first.
Rubby, Hernandez, Barnes, and Montas all make up for it, though.

Mookie with no walks in 3 straight games. I'm concerned.

Henry is off his game tonight. Gives up 5 ER and 2HR in the first. Nothing in the 2nd, so maybe he was off and made the corrections? Gave up two more (unearned) in the third on an inside-the-park home run (a bad misplay by Ramos but the batter would not have hit if Owens has not made an error) and another batter in the fourth before he was pulled (who eventually scored).
