He seems to be getting back on track after the time on the DL. Hope they keep to the plan and give him a day off here and there. It's a long season and the guy plays it for all it's worth.

Brian Johnson with 8 strikeouts in 5 innings, but also 4 hits and three runs. Progress? Definitely, the walks were my biggest concern and he's only allowed one (to 8 Ks) tonight. Also, 4 hits and a walk in 5 innings is only a base runner per inning, which is really good.

Took in the Bradenton vs. Tampa Yankees (Florida State League) game last night and just wanted to mention 3 of the Yanks kids.
I hate to report this, but Gary Sanchez is going to be a really good MLB catcher. He had two line shots he pulled to left to start, one a ringing double. The last time up he hit a screamer to right that was tracked down. He looked really good behind the plate and displayed a very accurate and strong arm. This kid is Montero but who will stay behind the plate. He is all of 20 years old! Look at how many times he K's:
Team League AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS TAM FSL .279 40 154 22 43 10 0 7 33 74 16 31 1 0 .354 .481 .835
He hit 18 bombs last year and has legit power.
I was not impressed with their other elite prospect, Mason Williams. He was over-matched with a lefty who is 0 and 8 so far this year. I was impressed with Robert Refsnyder. Hits the ball hard every time up. He is 22 already out of Arizona. Hitting .327, and hit .380 last year.

Actually Chris he looked pretty good. I had never seen him pitch before. Did he always throw below 3/4? I would have hated to bat against him left-handed. His velocity was real good, although I can't verify that as Bradenton did not have a reading showing.
