Hopefully Cleveland and Miami do not pick the Red Sox pocket again.

Hopefully Cleveland and Miami do not pick the Red Sox pocket again. It should probably be noted that none of us have a clue who is in the Red Sox pocket, so we don't know if it's picked or not.

What I'm saying is who are the TOP guys that they've missed on? They never really drafted anyone like Ball, Kelly and Owens. One was traded for a super star, one is progressing into a good/great prospect the other we'll see the ingredients are there to progress. They don't have anything for anyone to be worried about their track record on HS pitchers. I guess, this is one way to look at it...I guess I kind of lump "high bonus" guys in with top picks...Wich, I guess still leaves the sample kind of small... I wish I could look at Ball, squint and see Clayton Kershaw or Cole Hamels...But, I tend to see Mike Rozier, or Marl Pawalek, lol...

Draftee fail rate is high, period. But you have to go pre-Lester to come up with a bunch of Red Sox HS pitching failures. Really, can you name ANY HS pitching successes since Lester? I guess Kelly COULD be considered a success due to the value, but, we still have no idea if he will be an MLB pitcher...I'm not trying to be confrontational or anything...and I'm not going to hate on the Ball pick..Just not as excited as everyone else (I guess I should caveat, that I was REALLY hoping for Frazier...( Since Lester Grade of Incomplete: Callahan, Buttery, Kukuk, Younginer (7th, 09, moving slowly) Incomplete/disappointing for sup round: Caleb Clay Apparent success: Owens, Kelly OK: Michael Bowden just OK for Cubs big $ bust: Mike Rozier

The Sox have enough young arms to develop after Rounds 1 2 yesterday. Time to go hitting, either a true 1B which the sox have none on the horizon or the best hitters available and hope you find another MTrout..
Anyone know what happened to Light in greenville, .1 ip the other night

Add - major HS pitching draftees between Lester (huge hit) & Owens/etc (too early): Younginer ($975), Kelly (1st), Huntzinger (3rd), Britton (700k), Caleb Clay (1S), Bowden (1st), Rozier ($1.6M) Not a huge sample, with the best pick (Kelly) most recent and the worst flameout (Rozier) most distant, and what looks like a couple of useful arms (Huntzinger, Britton).

Wouldn't he be blocked by Swihart? OK, so if this is made possible by the Three Ball, I'll be more on board.

Wow, awesome. This will allow some people who didn't like the Ball pick to shut up now. Great release, I thought he might be passed on. Awesome!
