Is it me or did the catcher sh*tted himself scared when Xander connected? I thought so too at first, but the announcer says something about the runner going, and you can see him take off for second in the replay, so it seems the catcher was popping up to throw down to second.

I absolutely love how excited Xander was about it all too. He flys around the bases after a no doubt moon shot, a firm handshake for the 3rd base coach, and practically skips to the dugout for jumping high fives. During the highlights of the first game when he scored the winning run, he also had that same excitement, love a kid that loves to win because it's fun. Xander-mania is going to sweep this city sooner rather than later.

There's a train, a comin down the tracks. Start taking some infield at 3b Xander. See ya in Boston in another month. Two weeks if Will Middlebrooks has anything to say about it. If I'm not mistaken they both are wearing the same jersey # if that means anything.

Webster gave up only one hit, one walk and had six K's in six innings. Lost in Xandermania. I took note of it. He did hit two batters also, but was otherwise lights out. He's been quite dominant outside of the walks so it's very encouraging to see a game like this. That Pawtucket roster of prospects looks damn good at this point.

That pitch he hits out is likely one of the worst pitches I've ever seen.
Kyle Stroup and Keith Couch are heating up, by the way. Watch out. And Ryan Smith wants to know when he's gonna get his shot.

I think I can reasonably describe it as a fairly pedestrian place. But seriously, let's let Bogaerts get his feet wet here a little before we check the departure times for the next shuttle. Who knows, he might actually struggle a bit before he eventually forces himself onto the big club. However, it IS hard to envision a future where he DOESN'T force himself into Boston.

Remember that video he did with his brother before he was drafted. The humorous one. Xander looks like a young man with a sense of humor and a positive outlook. What a gift it is to be blessed with such talent and a positive outlook. It will help him in the future.

Early gameday thread with an early flight to Punta Cana. Enjoy the week everyone. Someone on the staff will be filling in. No doubt down there to check on our DSL prospects.

Still one of my favorites on youtube for some dumb reason. ADD: And I must ask, who was the naive idiot who didn't rank Bogaerts as our #1 prospect in the SP community pre-season rankings? What a fool...
