Who has two thumbs and gets to see Ranaudo pitch today? This guy! Hope the weather and my kids let us see more than two innings...

Buzz saw day. Greenville just needs a potential SP capable of going on any day when the Paw Sox, Portland and Owens at Salem can throw.
Happy times in the Sox system for pitching. Been a long time since this many top arms, like I can never remember this many.

Almanzar, Ranaudo, CVaz and Britton are EL all-stars.

Almanzar an All Star at 3B? I bet not many EL All Stars get banished from their position before their selection is even announced.

Almanzar made all star on the strength of his bat. Cechinni is not exactly a gold glove defender, just a better bat than Almanzar. Xander would have been all star too if we had not been so eager to promote him to AAA. I guess he will just have to get over it. Maybe a September call up will make up for this.

On what looked to be a disgusting pitching lineup for the day....things aren't going very well at all.
Workman, Ranaudo and Owens all getting hit....HARD.

Owens is probably pitching with Pitcher of the Month on the line today.
Player of the Month probably up for grabs between Cecchini, Betts, Ramos, and De La Cruz. Cecchini with a strong game helping his cause so far.

On a serious note though, where are you getting the Hamilton activation from? PawSox twitter. I thought it was a semi-reliable source. Missed the EL news article. Usually there are threads for the all-star selections.

Ranaudo with 119 pitches today! Is that common to make prospects throw that many pitches? Edit: Nevermind, they edited it on MiLB and it's 97 pitches now.

Wasn't doubting you - I just couldn't find it, and didn't check their Twitter when the other two moves were up on the website. It would make sense because there's an open spot with Diaz in Boston. Even assuming Diaz comes back down when Drew is healthy, a pitcher (prob JDLT) goes up.

What is Hazelbaker's value to the club right now? He's had a pretty good season so far and is a fairly interesting player. Not on the 40 man, is he more of a trade chip right now than any sort of depth?

Tough conditions in Manchester today, about 89 with 60% humidity at the start of the game. Made it through three innings before the four year old couldn't take any more.

Cecchini doesn't seem to be bothered much by EL pitching.

Ground hog day in Manchester: Yesterday Matt Barnes pitched 5 innings, threw 97 pitches, gave up 3 in the first, 2 in the 5th including 9 hits, 2 walks, 5 K's. Today Anthony Ranaudo pitched 5 innings, threw 97 pitches, gave up 3 in the first, 2 in the 5th including 9 hits, 2 walks, 5 K's.
