3 pitchers who will not cost the Red Sox a draft pick. Age is in 2022. Stats are 2021. A: 29yo, 136.1 IP, 27.2% K%, 6.7% BB%, 1.25 HR/9, 42.4% gb%, 84 FIP- B: 30yo, 163 IP, 21.6% k%, 5.9% bb%, 0.77 HR/9, 50.5% gb%, 80 FIP- C: 31yo, 164 IP, 29.2% k%, 7.3% bb%, 0.82 hr/9, 42.8% gb%, 73 FIP- who are these three pitchers??? B and C look good. I was curious too and did a little digging. I think?: - A - Eduardo Rodriguez
- B - Marcus Stroman
- C - Kevin Gausman

Dang. Was an exciting finish.
Anyone know what the expected runs are when you have 13 hits and 3 walks in a 9 inning game?

It is very nice to be hitting homers, especially with all these guys on base lol
Also, random note but does Porcello look skinnier this year to anyone else?

This team is fun. Kyrie is getting more comfortable in the offense, and has really been going after it on defense recently which is surprising. Horford looks like a beast. Baynes and Theis have been great pickups. Brown is a menace in transition and Tatum is really polished, and better on defense than I expected.
Based on what Danny has said, it doesn't seem like he has any immediate plans for the trade exception. I'm wondering if he's just pocketing it in case someone else gets hurt or if there's a disgruntled player situation where they can pick up an asset on the cheap.
I think Ojeleye might lose some minutes when Morris comes back but he's looked solid so far, better than Yabu and Nader. He's had some struggles with the shot but it's a SSS and he can shoot. I guess he was the most efficient pick and pop player in the NCAA last year. Plus like you said rip, anyone with that defense has a place in the NBA.

And I will also eat my words. Win the next one and anything can happen.

I just about lost all interest in this team a few weeks ago. Normally I try to be more positive. I really thought the team would be better. Too many players operating under their talent level. Not sure what else to say except that I'm very glad the Celtics are playing again. Why would you lose interest? I mean, why write this? We are all frustrated, but the Astros are just killing the ball. There isn't much you can do about it. They won 93 games and won the division. I could see if they won 80 and finished in 3rd, but his statement isn't fair to the guys and the effort they put in for 162 games. To be honest I don't know why I lost interest. I normally find myself looking forward to watching the games or at least having them on in the background. That just hasn't happened for me recently. I know it's an unfair position cause it's not because of a lack of effort or anything. And yeah I know the Astros are really, really good. There's not much you can do when the 2nd best pitcher in the AL gets knocked out with 7 ER. I wouldn't want anyone but Sale in that game. Edit: I'd also just like to say that I've been a pretty big defender of this team all year, and it's just too bad they stubbed their toe heading into the playoffs.

I am really not. See how many times he does it. They will throw down the middle of the field on some play action to the TE, but that is why they have WR's that run a lot of crosses and outs. They haven't had a wide deep threat since Moss. I can't blame them, but to guys like me it is boring football. Everyone in the league knows he struggles with the deep pass. I know this is a bit off topic but this just isn't true. Hogan was #2 in the league in yards per catch last year. Cooks was #14.

I'm just boxscore watching tonight. Would be great to get a Mookie hot stretch at the right time.
Looks like he's throwing a lot of pitches but how does Carson look?

Rip was talking about what to watch for, those are my top three things I want to watch, not a ranking of the players. It's very premature to say Brown is the starter. He showed in summer league he is still a work in progress. We got the great game and some bad ones. Ah, yikes, my bad lol. I think it will be interesting to see how Brad works with these "isolation" scorers in Kyrie and Tatum.

Irving becoming our go to scorer has to be #1 for me. A close second is Tatum. Then Hayward which is funny. A top 30 player is #3. The big question mark is SG. Please don't tell me how Stevens labels players either. Before the trade I was convinced that Brad would start both Crowder and Hayward. Now it's more interesting. We really don't have a SG on the roster. For me with Irving and his driving you want a 3 point shooter. Like Bradley was for Thomas. The 3 candidates for me are Brown, Rozier and Smart. Thing is last year none of the 3 were good 3 point shooters. So it will be very interesting who steps up to claim that spot. You can make a case for all 3 in my opinion. The SG starter is going to be Brown. You bring Smart and TRo off the bench for some playmaking and defense. It's also a little premature I think to put Tatum as your #2 scorer. Both Kyrie and Hayward are pretty efficient scorers in pretty high volumes. Kyrie: 25.2 pts on 47.3/40.1/90.5% shooting. He will likely shoot more 3s in Boston too, so his eFG% will go up. Hayward: 21.9 pts on 47.1/39.8/84.4% shooting. I think the chances Tatum reaches that production or efficiency are close to 0%. I think the starting lineup looks like: Irving / Brown / Hayward / Horford / Baynes. Baynes will be like Amir last year and will sit quickly. The crunch-time lineup will be Irving / [Brown or Smart] / Hayward / Morris / Horford My huge concern would be a Horford injury. If he goes down your big men are Baynes and Morris, and that's it.

Not that simple. Really really want homefield advantage in the playoffs. This team especially wants home field advantage in the playoffs. They have the best Home record in the AL at 40-25. This is good for 3rd in the majors behind the Dodgers (52-16) and Diamondbacks!!!(45-23).

Hmm. In slow mo, the fingers bent backwards when he slapped it. Yeah it's hard to tell actually if his thumb bent like a thumb normally bends, or if it bent down more towards his wrist. Anyway, great game. Too bad I missed most of Fister's start. That would have been an odd sentence to hear at the beginning of the season.

For those wondering I just made this. I'm no doctor but it doesn't look good. Maybe he has one of those thumbs that can bend in odd angles. streamable.com/n7leu

That fly ball Devers just hit might have hit the wall at Fenway. His batted ball profile really is great to be in Boston. Hope JBJ's finger is alright, he was starting to go on one of his streaks. What happened to JBJ's finger? Anything that looked serious? He ran home and there was a close play at home. He kind of slapped the plate with his hand to get around the tag. Came up kind of shaking it and left the game. I don't think it's anything serious probably just jammed it.

Sonny Gray can't really put anyone away. Dave O'Brien said "[Gray] is an average good pitcher" lol, but I think he's actually right.
