Ah, got it. Thanks. The Wire's on my list of TV I need to watch. I basically haven't watched any of the "essential" TV shows other than Mad Men. Offseason should help with that. The Wire should be the only thing on your list By far the greatest TV show ever. I prefer Breaking Bad as the greatest show ever, but this pretty much sums it up:

Figured I'd post this here. Just watching some highlights of his final start, and saw his post game interview which I hadn't seen. It's pretty incredible. He waits for all his teammates to high five before he talks, and when he does talk, he credits all his teammates, says how thankful he is to be healthy and how thankful he is for his teammates. Obviously, we didn't know him. But judging by reactions and from what I've seen out of him these past few years, every person should strive to be like the person he was. Every young baseball player should be like him. Enjoy the game, have a blast, and be an incredible teammate, as he clearly was. m.marlins.mlb.com/mia/video/?query=Fernandez+on+his+dominant+outing+vs.+Nats

This game instantly reminded me of the comeback against Seattle in 2013. Down 7-2 in the ninth, Sox got shutdown by a really good pitcher (Felix), cruising to a loss, huge comeback.
Tonight....down 5-2 in the ninth, Sox got shutdown by a really good pitcher, cruising to a loss, huge comeback.

Moncada has looked great defensively. Nice play ranging into foul ground on pop up, charged a swinging bunt & fielded with glove with a lightning quick release & strong throw but the runner barely beat it, nothing more he could've done. Just ended an inning with a backhand play behind the bag at third and a strong throw for an out. Of course the only video I got on defense of him was a more routine play.

Impressive showing for Romanski defensively so far. Picked off a runner at first, threw out would-be-base stealer at second by a lot, and I have a side view but still really like how he's receiving the ball. Very quiet hands & good presentation from what I can see

Dubon just made a pretty horrible throwing E. Nice backhand in the hole (thought Moncada could've dove for it and possibly made a play), quick release but literally threw it into the seats not even close

He was hitting .305/.372/.446 coming into today. His defense has been more than fine. Dustin Pedroia is the least of our problems. Are we watching the same player ? Take your stats and flush them he's not even close to the player he once was. Uhhhh, yeah, Pedroia has basically been the same exact player he's always been this year

Kind of interesting when they showed the replay of that Rutledge RBI double it looked like Hanley started running harder to home once he saw Rutledge was going for two in case he was thrown out.

The thought I had when I first heard about all this was that maybe a group of pitchers went to Farrell/front office/whoever and told them they either don't really like throwing to Swihart or that they'd really prefer Vazquez and Hanigan.
Obviously we know the numbers and can see with our eyes how good Vazquez is back there, but sometimes it can be more than that. Porcello's comments praising Vazquez about being a leader and stuff like that is important. I've talked to pitchers I've played with in college over the past couple years that say they preferred one catcher over another because the one guy didn't get low enough in his catching stance and that made the target less appealing. Not at all saying this has anything to do with Vazquez and Swihart but I absolutely believe that there can be really little things like that that a catcher does to make a pitcher feel more comfortable and confident.

Sam Travis with a second homer of the seaon. Yeah, the HR was an absolute missile. Also had a hard LD single to left and a deep flyout to center

According to Gameday, WV just sac bunted a man to second with one out....so either they're that desperate for a run against Espinoza or he tried for a hit and Gameday is wrong

So Koji never throws sliders/cutters but throws a nasty one to Pillar and then made the MVP look foolish on an 87 MPH heater
