Came across this also. Boston beat writer Chris Smith posted this on twitter post game. From a conversation he had with Brian Bannister, link below:
"Red Sox's Brian Bannister said to me the other day to watch for Ty Buttrey, who reached 100 mph at Portland. 25 Ks, 15.1 IP. 1.76 ERA."

I've got to lean towards siding with sebirddog here. In recent weeks I have personally sat behind the plate where the Portland pitchers, who are off that night, keep stats and the radar gun. I whitnessed them clock Buttrey at 99 and 100. I also read this article below and other articles posting the big right hander hit 100. amp.masslive.com/v1/articles/20656805/boston_red_sox_prospects_rafae_1.ampAlso while listening to the Reading announcer he reported Buttrey hit 100. It seems to me as well as others that Buttrey much like Callahan is improving drastically and starting to turn heads. But maybe I'm wrong...

Not being a a former pitcher would you expect Buttrey's 100mph fastball to increase as the weather gets warmer, or decrease as the season drags on?

I noticed Rodriguez fastball looked much better last night. He was sitting 94-96 most of the first three innings and then settled in at 94. Having command of the FB set up the other pitches and allowed him to K (8?). Nice outing especially since we are unsure of what Price will or will not do this year. Of course we need Wright to gobble up innings and not give up so many long balls.

Nice to see the organization promoting Josh Tobias to Portland AA. I saw him play in HS (summer ball) I think it was "Dirt Bags' travel program and later at Florida. I like what he brings to the Sox organization.

Question, what is the background of those who rank players? Are they former college / pro baseball players? How much of an impact does Baseball America rankings or input from Boston coaches/scout have. Just curious?

Interesting Portland first game of year 2-2 ball game they go to Buttrey not ysla, Callahan, Jerez, Cosart for set up. Maddox looked good closing. Stanky battled. He was hit hard but kept his composure. Tavarez is a special player - should be in AAA.

Hey Ian and Hatfield who do the Red Sox pitching coaches think are the top 5 minor league pitchers this spring? Looking for your inside scoop!

Just spent the past week watching spring training. Callahans looking good with his splitter and who's this Buttery with a 94-98 fb and +change? Kid looks good. I've got concerns about Ysla's command.
Does anyone else agree
