I'm hoping for our highest scoring game all year with this line up

How high an OPS would Chavis have to produce to get consideration for the playoff roster? Say he maintains 900+ for the Pawsox and gets a Sept call up that goes really well? Not like it hasn't happened before. If he out hits Devers by a considerable margin in Sept. what do the Sox do? Just a thought of something way out there. Someone earlier mentioned that he isnt eligible for the postseason because of his suspension. If that's the case, then I don't think it matters too much!

Not a bad bunt. Almost safe at second too

I don't know if some of you guys have considered youtube tv but I have gotten lots of games so far on it, including the first 3 Redsox / Yanks games and it is $35 per month for roughly 60 channels. You can record 6 programs at once and you even get the ability to share the service with a total of 6 email accounts. In other words, 6 people, including those in different locations, effectively get the service for the price of 1. And finally, all of it can stream to any internet connected device such as most modern cell phones. The AI is great and it's wonderful to be able to record so many shows. It's apparently not available everywhere but it's great. FYI. Living in Florida with terrible cable options, I second this. I've been able to watch every game so far this year. I do believe they upped the price to $40/month now. If you were signed up before, you're grandfathered in at $35 though. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of it!

All comes down to not throwing strikes with a 4 run lead

Not thrilled, but I can live with this for the price. I think Moreland playing through his injury brought down his whole season

Fister has only pitched 25.1 innings? Am I the only one who feels like it's been so many more? When will the pain end?

I just don't get why we called him up then. I guess to call a bluff as someone mentioned?

Sandy Leon should have had that at-bat. JF is trying to be the accidental winning manager. JF was ejected earlier

Jalen Beeks promoted to Pawtucket per the Sea Dogs. I still think Beeks most likely ends up as a reliever but he's gonna get a shot at starting if he keeps this up at Pawtucket. I think he's gonna be a quality pitcher for the Red Sox. Really high on him Lowest FB% this year all career I believe. Can he be successful at higher levels or just fooling hitters the second time around with offspeed stuff?

How has Travis looked at the plate? Sadly I can't really watch any games live and I'm left with game day. I've always liked him and want to see him succeed

It will be his first start of the year with only a few innings under his belt. I'm not worried if he's a dud and not praising him as the savior if it's a gem. Too early to tell.

I guess they think Groome isn't even half the pitcher. 2nd vs 5th game.

Breslow has a save, I guess that makes him a good pitcher now? And Koji pitched well enough to get the win!

@buster_ESPN: ESPN's John Fisher dug this out: Of Cespedes's first 66 career HRs, 47 would've been HR here in Fenway. Probably because of trajectory But how many more would have been added as well? Park hit chart from this season looks like it would have added some as well

Xander looks like a different player at Shortstop, glad he is starting to turn it around. Please let it be carved in stone that he started to hit when he was still at 3B. He was still hot for the first few games at 3rd. Then I thought he started to slump, no?

I think we're done at this point. I don't see the "package and re-flip" scenario playing out in the next 45 minutes. Carp? He has to go, ya?

At least if the Sox want masterson in the winter they won't have to give up a pick
