What the reason for not play Tillman big minutes to get him used to playing with 2nd string guys? Probably because in the playoffs there is no playing with second string guys and he may still be dealing with a little something from his earlier injuries and considering Horford and Porzingis age/injuries he’s pretty valuable.

Pritchards extension is looking like highway robbery for the Celtics.

4/135 for Holiday extension… i won’t care if that means they are still signing White and just plan to pay a lot of tax money. Win a chip and I think they will.

I’d prefer then take JJ over Daniels

very underrated player his entire career Was he? He was a good/solid corner and got paid and treated like one. He was never a number 1 but was good.

Celts sign Queta to a standard contract which makes him eligible for the playoffs. No terms of the contract were released.

If Maye is off the board and the Giants are giddy for Daniels or JJ, it’d be great to trade down to 6. Still get a stud WR or someone like Alt plus some other assets. Not a big fan of trading with anyone further down the board unless it’s a complete over pay by the other team. If Maye is there and he’s not picked I’ll be devastated.

Also happy that they didn't add to their list of needs by letting these guys walk. It does seem a bit steep. Here are some of the better safeties who signed during this offseason. Winfield got 17.12 for 1 yr, franchise tag McKinney got 16.75 for 4 yrs, 23 guaranteed Curl got 4.5 for 2 yrs, 6 guaranteed Stone got 7 for 2 yrs, 6 guaranteed Gilman got 5.06 for 2 yrs, 5.63 guaranteed But I dont have an issue with them overspending a bit to keep one if their better players. It woyld have been nice if they had signed a true FS so they could keep Dugger closer to the line. I have not seen the full breakdown but someone said it has an early out for the Pats so maybe it’s a lower signing bonus and guaranteed salaries in the first couple years…. If that’s the case I like it better. Either way it’s not a real overpay but it’s not good value either.

What Schefty's hearing on Picks 1 & 2: One can only hope. Dream scenario is Maye falls to 3 and we take him and the team is disciplined enough to sit him year one.

Bills trading Stefon Diggs to Houston. As a life long bills fan, good effing riddance! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Don’t know what the heck diggs problem is or why he’s always in his feelings and gets itchy fingers on social media. Bills gave him the huge contract he wanted, he was always the number 1 target on the team and played with a great quarterback but that was never enough for him always acting like a spoiled little child. 2 teams traded him now to get away from him. Says a lot

I've done a full 360, and I'm back to QB no matter what, Williams >> Maye >>> Daniels >>>> Trade Down >> McCarthy. I'd rather try and be wrong on Daniels than not try at all. If Maye is gone then I like the trade back to 6 idea. Still get one of the top WRs or Alt.

Brady and Bill are both gone, let’s stop the talk about them here. Go to the throw down forum to hash that crap out. Please and thank you.

Bleacher Report actually had a solid trade idea. If the Pats don’t like the QB on the board at 3, trade back to 6 with the Giants (assuming they do) for a second this year (47) and a second next year.
Being at 6 still lets you still pick a blue chip top wide receiver or left tackle while picking up 2 seconds. I almost like this better than the Vikings trade idea where you’re getting 3 firsts but later.

With the Cs clinching top spot...thoughts on how they play out the rest of the regular season in terms on lineups/player rests? They need to clinch the top spot in the entire league so they have home court in the finals too.

The rule itself is understandable, it’s a very dangerous play that results in injury like 20% of the time (I don’t remember the exact numbers but I believe the league said something about 150 instances with 30 ppl missing time or something like that) The problem is the people they have in stripes that are going to try and interpret the rule week to week The problem is it’s a very difficult rule to enforce ergo it’s a pretty bad rule. Understandable they’d want to limit injuries but this stuff is getting ridiculous, unless you want to make it reviewable, but they won’t.

I think they wanted too, just in a smart way. Franchise tags and Titans stopped that. It's Mayo showing how raw he is at coaching . Even if you want to spend, you never say that because crap can happen and fans get upset. Sure I agree there's a benefit to not showing your hand, Mayo should say less if he believes that. He's partly showing their hand with these comments. Given QB trade ups are crazy expensive, I don't see the downside to saying you love all 3 QBs. Implying they might not love a QB at 3 helps them how? Per reports teams were exploring trade ups all the way back to the combine, so it's certainly not to drum up trade interest. BTW he's not GM, that's not his job anyways. If they are like you, I'm taking a QB at #3 no matter what, why are you trying to drum up trade interest? I take this as they like certain QBs and not others, which makes sense. They haven't made a decision, which most teams haven't and they are looking at other players, which they'd be stupid not to. Add in the leak that Daniels was Bills guy and would do anything to get him. Which makes zero sense given Bill was fired at end of the season. Now leaks per Kiper that Patriots don't like Maye. Our front office is either being brilliant or completely stupid! I will choose to believe it's brilliant and they want Washington to pick Daniels. The Team that literally almost hired Bill. Yeah that might be highly biased based on how I feel about certain QB prospects. Otherwise we have big problems with leaks from people inside the team, something we almost never had with Bill. Saying you don't like Maye only hurts your trade prospects even if it's true, no? My thinking is that by saying you're open for business then you're more likely to get calls. Like, are GMs going to spend the time putting together a trade proposal for Caleb Williams if the Bears are 100% dead set on him? They could like another QB a lot who is suspected to slide a bit down the board or maybe they'll just be curious what teams are offering. I don't like the idea of trading down for a QB though. I never thought of this question, but it's a good one I heard recently. Name the best QB taken in a trade down and the list is scary bad. I think Kerry Collins was the best QB taken after trading down. I wish I could find the list, but I just remembered it was Collins and a bunch of guys who were fringe starters at best. That makes me nervous about potential trade backs. If you know you want a QB just take whomever you like the most at 3 and just punt on the value. I think you're on to something though about trying to hype the Commanders into Daniels though. Teams talk to one another by picking up the phone and talking, not thru posturing in the media. Teams likely called Chicago before they traded Fields to see their appetite for talking and were likely shot down or gave such a ridiculous ask that it was shot down.

Hauser’s next contract will be interesting. Recent comps like Robinson and Straus say he’s going to get big money, but recent comps also said Fields would get at least a second round pick back. Will NBA teams start to learn like the NFL did? How do the new rules affect players like him?

Luke Kornet is a free agent after this year. He’s a system player, in my opinion, but he’s really getting comfortable and good in this system and what is asked of him. I hope the rest of the NBA looks at him the same way and he’s only offered minimum contracts so the Celtics can keep him. Low salary, impact guys are key long term to this team and it’d be nice to have him as a depth big long term if he’s cheap like he is now.
