Player A: .248/.315/.515/.830, 6.0% HR%, 35.4% SO%, 7.3% BB%, 11.4% XBH% Player B: .242/.334/.483/.817, 5.3% HR%, 33.6% SO%, 11.4% BB%, 9.9% XBH%
Small sample size, and influenced by Bobby's tremendous last month and a half. Player A is Bobby's first two years (ages 25-26) while B is Mark Reynolds' first four years (ages 23-26). "Mark Reynolds but more so" isn't the greatest player in history, but it's a ticket to a decade-long MLB career.
My big surprise looking through Reynolds stats is that he used to steal bases! Also played a bad 3B (by metrics) while Bobby has of course been learning 1B in the bigs due to Raffy - I haven't been as down on Bobby's defense this year as many posters, but I think we've all noted the improvements he's made on the defensive side of the ball the past couple months as well.

The Worcester Business Journal just posted an interesting article: more than two years after the WooSox announcement, the city still has no formal lease on the team, doesn't own the property on which the stadium is being built, and doesn't have a binding agreement with the developer! linkI spoke with a Worcester cop at the dog park last fall who'd been on the Kelley Square traffic beat during the start of construction. He said the only way this thing was getting built on time and on budget was with a light winter '19. That didn't happen and the ground froze just about when it always does - shocker. Then they get back to it and the coronavirus crisis hits. Taxpayers are already on the hook for more than $30 million in overages, in addition to the ~$100m+ initial bill. And now this latest news that there's a non-zero chance the whole thing could go up in smoke with no consequences to anyone but taxpayers and hopeful fans! Incredibly unlikely, sure, but even the possibility is upsetting as a former Woo resident. The school system is a crisis situation even outside of covid-19 -- no sex ed for the second biggest city in New England, barebones ESL for a city rich with immigrants, underpaid teachers -- but we can afford a publically funded ballpark years after most cities have gotten wise to the con! Leaving aside my editorializing, the lack of a firm deal puts the city of Worcester in a terrible bargaining position with PawSox ownership going forward.

Not baseball.. LOVE the bootcamp photo in the cracker jack (dress blues every one else) uniform. How long was the dixie cup kept rolled over? The DC used to SCREAM at us for doing that. Mostly with 4 letter words mixed in very often. Apologies for the misrepresentation, not me in the profile pic, but a favorite figure in baseball history -- I believe it to be Larry Doby, second to break the color barrier, hasn't gotten his 42 movie yet but such an interesting guy. Served in WW2, won the Negro League Championship in 1946, and joined Cleveland in '47 shortly after Jackie's debut. And, in the pic (but not most others), I think he has an uncanny resemblance to Mookie! Let me know if you think I should change it up!

Unexpected, but great news! Turns 27 October 1st, if he puts it all together the next few years of prime should be well worth a sub-20m AAV.

Not a fan. We won't meet the school system's request for ESL funding but we'll drop ~$68m (Yard Goats stadium cost) on another Fake Fenway dropped in the worst intersection in New England? Kinda comical, very sorry for PawSox faithful

JBJ has a career high 11sb this year, a hot second half he could have his first 15/15 year (if he's really en fuego could knock on the door of 20/20). I predict he'll stretch out one of his famous hot streaks and make Boras very happy these next few months

I haven't been lurking on the forum as actively this year, so I'm not sure if this has already been posted about, but r/RedSox over on reddit has started putting "Africa" by Toto over video of our grand salamis this year. With 9 at the all-star break, enjoy this grid! streamable.com/hof2x

I really don't want to give up on Swihart, but the Mets are hurting for a catcher. Do they have anyone we might get more value out of? Hansel Robles is a target of mine for a silly reason (OOTP) and his improvement on BBs this season is very SSS but might be a realistic return? I can't really properly gauge Swihart's value - again, I prefer we keep him even though it's a weird situation.
