It's fun to fantasize but I'd prefer to wait on post season moves, trades, free agency, etc. to see how a potential roster shakes out.

All of Queens and Long Island will be swarming Fenway this weekend. Insufferable. Better them than Bronx and Yonkers!

How high does Bobby Dalbec's OPS need to get at AAA, to go along with his 35% strikeout rate, before I get interested again? The number is bigger than 1072, apparently. I don't know about excited, but it sure seems like he deserves another big league shot. Probably not with the Sox though. Less than two weeks before the deadline.

He said something to the effect of the Sox having no good young pitching on the horizon, don’t remember the exact quote He should probably be rejoicing.

Eddinson Paulino also with two home runs (and a double) I followed him and Bonaci closely last year and noticed they kept leapfrogging one another in average as they moved around the infield. Bonaci has moved ahead in terms of BA this season. We'll see who gets to the top rung first.

How much longer before Mondesiâs knee heals?. Could sure use some help at SS while waiting for Mayer to develop. I was at yesterdayâs game just behind 1B and witnessed two of Kikéâs throwing errors after making good diving stops..

Not a former Sox but a memory of Cleon Jones, one of the heroes of the 1969 Mets World Champions.
There was a story last night about how he is helping to organize a group of fellow community members to restore Africatown in Alabama. The town with historic events tied to the Slave trade had been reduced to 2,000 residents from 14,000 several years ago.

A real tragedy.
I have fond memories of the Boomer in Boston. Thank you for sharing your interaction with the family with us.

Anyone catch the Rafaela steal of home? Always an exciting play. It wasn’t very exciting unfortunately. Double steal with Mayer going from 1st to 2nd and Somerset didn’t even cover second base. They still made the throw even though there was no one covering for the tag. Shortstop caught the ball behind the bag and Rafaela went home on the throw. Thanks, Addam.

Picked a guy off first last night. Threw out someone trying to steal the other day. At least a slight improvement.

Just wonder in’, will Marcelo Mayer’s promotion be sponsored by Liberty Mutual or the My Pillow guy?

Red Sox really need to think about calling this kid up and having Kiké play CF while Duvall is out. I like it; he also brings speed to the roster. What’s the offsetting roster move, though? Su Chang? Could clear and change places with David.

At this point should we start to be worried that Bobby Dalbec is the starting short stop in 2023? I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Chang and Hernandez are away playing for their country in the Classic. And Mondesi is still rehabbing an injury.

Had no idea that Raul Mondesi is sitting in prison right now on an 8 year political corruption sentence. And he was elected mayor of a large Dominican city. Shame.

Would have preferred Iglesias TBH. A better hitter (.272 lifetime) and a good fielder. Perhaps not as flash as Mondesi but he stays on the field more often. And he won't sprain an ankle pushing the laundry basket.

Don’t expect much back from Colorado in the Seabold transaction, but then again, what did we give up to acquire him? A lot was expected from him at the time of the trade as the better prospect of the two former Phillies.

Have to agree with Peter Abraham that Iglesias is the best shortstop available. He should be amenable to a one year deal. This will give the staff a chance to evaluate Cedanne for possible late season service. Can’t see anyone on the current roster stepping in at SS this year.

It wasn't so long ago that Hernandez was a pretty highly touted prospect, it just seems like he hits for power all over and power hitting catchers aren't exactly growing on trees. I think Chris is probably right, that it shows his value that he was outrighted and everyone else passed. I just know catchers develope late, Wong seems meh (although catchers develope late) and Ronoldo seems to have a carrying tool in his power. I guess he's probably a good Organizational 3rd catcher. Like was mentioned, I just wonder if with a hot spring he doesn't beat out Wong (who has options) to start the year. I guess I'm Wong on this one But you could be wight. Hernandez power RH bat could play on a roster dominated by left handed hitters. Roberto reportedly is still weak behind the plate but he has a strong arm to throw out potential stealers. So there's that. He's still young enough to develop some defensive acumen at the catchers position. At the very least he is a righty off the bench who could occasionally DH.

I like Iglesias for stopgap shortstop. He can still hit as shown by his .292 stat this past season and .279 lifetime. He won’t bring a golden glove to the position but is adequate in the field. Cedanne could be ready by mid season anyway.

Bloom said the Sox were totally comfortable with Story at short so why wouldn't he be the man? Should we be comfortable with what Bloom is comfortable ?

He may not have that "pop" in his repertoire but Iglesias is a good hitter with a solid glove. Has 1 .279 career BA. Hit over .290 in his last season with Boston. Could hold the fort until Rafaela checks in.

Was rooting for Wallace since Sox acquired him. Local boy (Methuen) who played for the Huskies. Hard thrower. But Mills is closer to ML duty, so there’s that.

It’s not the matter of their winning a shortstop position at age 21 or 22 that was the focus of my assuming Bloom (or his successor) is (or will) count on Meyer or Romero’s development, it’s the consideration that their talent could persuade him that it is not worth committing lengthy term to Dansby.
Of course they have a lot of maturing to do. Hell, Dansby reached the majors at 22. As did Turner. Correa was 21. Even our beloved Nomar reached the Sox roster at 22. Both Mayer and Romero were first round pics. Mayer, #4 was ranked #1 pre draft.
Sox surely have coaches to show them how to brush up and down and to change underwear.
