I posted it in the General MLB thread as well, but this is pretty cool. LinkYou can watch every MLB game for free this weekend via MLB.tv. Blackout rules still apply, though.

And how stupid are the blackout rules? If I BUY the MLB TV online package then at the very least I should be able to see, at the very least, the home feed of the team which claims eminent domain of wherever I find myself. Stupid.

I have been fighting that for years. I live 500 miles from Seattle and they are my HOME Franchise... what a crock... gotta drive 500 miles to see the sox play Seattle or we never get it as root sports on the Direct Tv mlb package only shows about 2 a year I give a dang about. The online deal is just as bad. It was a lot better on the old C-band when I had a cousin playing and got a waver for the sox.

Yeah, I am in North Carolina this weekend which is inexplicably Orioles territory (Atlanta closer to my current location as the crow flies). Yet no MASN on local TV's cable package. So it's sports bar or bust.

Conspiracy theory time! The umps knew Salty's hit would have given him the Sox double record for catchers and overturned a blatant homerun (according to Don) to help him in his contract year.

But but, since it was in play and couldn't be a ground rule double by that shouldn't salty have been awarded another base past second (were he was headed or was at)for a triple and thus not getting the record for double trouble by a catcher... LOL

Throwing 113 pitches, Buchholz is officially stretched out pitch-wise for the post-season.

NESN Research gets Timlin's debut wrong. He walked Tom Brunansky on 5 pitches, with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd, and then got Quintana 3U. Tony Pena was the leadoff hitter in the 9th, and lined out.

It's the "King" against "el Gordo", with El Gordo having a much better year, Not based on any statistic that doesn't have to do with being on the better team, with the exception of walks.

At least the M's have good announcers (Sims especially) I live around 100m from St. petersburg, where the Rays play and they are the "blackout" team. Want to watch the Sox, or another team? Put up with the worst 2 announcers in the game.. DeWayne Staats and brian Anderson. Only reason Anderson is there now is they finally fired the other awful announcer.. Drunkard Joe Magraine that got his 2nd DUI this spring and they figured that was enough. Small blessing is the blackout team having decent announcers and the M's have those. Sims is good, as is Mike Blowers. TB has never hired one yet.

Timlin's memory is combining his debut (which was Opening Day) and his second appearance, in the third game of the series. Opening Day, he was pitching garbage time, and the Jays lost 6-2. Two days later he pitched the 8th, down 3-2, and in the bottom half, Pat Tabler hit a 3-run homer off of Jeff Gray, and Henke saved his first career win.
Perfect example of how our memories make better stories out of what happened to us.
