Greenville starter TBD. Possible that Trey Ball is activated today and will start for the Drive.

Let's see if Wendell Rijo is in the lineup today. He last played on the 16th.

The other Sally league teams asked him to sit out a few games to give their pitchers a rest.

So, does Mookie play 2B in one game and CF in the other?

So, does Mookie play 2B in one game and CF in the other? I would not think so. If he is on the fast track they need to get him the reps in CF. The last time he was playing CF it was with aluminum bats. He will need to work on reads off wood at game speed.

Mookie in CF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk And Ramos in Left 1-2-3 13 pitch 2 K first inning for Owens. Antonelis pointed out he's only given up 1 hiit in his last 13.1 innings. His change looked excellent. 2nd inning single, walk then struck out the side. Having fastball command issues (high) but they've got zero chance against his change. 24 pitch inning. 3rd inning gave up a walk. Now has 6K & 2 walks. 18 pitch inning. Threw more curves than the first two innings but it's clearly his third pitch. Wind must be blowing in from left. I haven't seen all of the ABs but niether of Mookie's ABs were well hit. Of what I've seen, hardest hit ball was Marrero's one hopper to SS. Ramos got a mix of pitches in his AB. On the Mets run, I think Ramos throws him out but Wilkerson is in RF. 34 pitch inning 2Ks 2BB. Still trying to establish FB. Also has 2 WP both on curveballs.

Shaw's triple was standup. The RF too close to the wall and let the rebound get behind him.

Owens must have been reading his thread about deception.
I wonder if any prospects do read their threads...

I'd guess that most do but know enough to know that their coaches know a hell of a lot more than us yahoos.
Owens done after 4 innings and 89 pitches by the way.

I bet if they did read, some of them would have a really tough time not registering and setting people straight. I bet a lot that's said is so wrong it's crazy. My stuff included. It would have been great if Jon Denney registered for his original thread.

Otherwise we wouldn't have a grand total of zero prospects registered.

I'd also guess sports writers and broadcasters read us, mainly for storyline ideas. Nobody can think of everything and this site would be a great resource for that.
7 inning game so it looks like Mookie's new streak is over.

Ball is having a rough outing again: 29 pitches for 1/3 inning I guess they won't let him throw more.
Add: He's out: 2/3 Inning, 5 hits (1 double and 4 singles), 5 runs, 2BB 0 Ks 36 pitchs 20 strikes

Trey Ball 0.2 5 5 5 2 0 0 9.42
Between Callahan, Buttrey, Ball, and Denney, there's little to get excited about from the 2013 and 2012 drafts (except I suppose, Marrero).
* Before the responses, I understand the results are not indicative of their long term progress.

You and I got our butts kicked last week for suggesting that results do matter. Don't scout box scores!!! Remember? This is all part of the minor league master plan. Just have faith.

Between Callahan, Buttrey, Ball, and Denney, there's little to get excited about from the 2013 and 2012 drafts (except I suppose, Marrero). The 2012 draft has been pretty underrated in these parts. Brian Johnson now has a 2.65 ERA and over a strikeout per inning in 132 2/3 pro innings, and has never gotten the same "he's still learning to pitch" defense that Webster does, even though he's been a full-time pitcher less than two years. That was a really good pick. I also still like Callahan. Great K numbers and he was very young for his class. He's actually two months younger than Ball. Lots of hits allowed, but the scouting reports that came back in the spring were exciting. Between those two and Marrero, I think think the 2012 class was pretty solid. Plus I think Light and Haley still have some upside. That draft gave no organizational depth, though. Only 18 players in that class are still in the organization, which I guess is why Salem's lineup is so full of ML veteran types.
