Wanna know why I will not give up on this team for a long time still? They have 2 fantastic starting pitchers (Lester, Lackey) 32 great setup men (Taz, Miller, Badenhop), and 1 dominant closer (Koji). 3 fantastic starting pitchers. You forgot RDLR. Here you go.

Great pitching by Rubby but he might want to glance at 1st base once in a while when there's a runner on.

Great pitching by Rubby but he might want to glance at 1st base once in a while when there's a runner on. No need for that! He'll be demoted to leave his spot for proven starters like Doubront and Peavy!

Rubby is on a tear right now. Will be very frustrating if they bump him back to Pawtucket

Oh you want some substance for the claim that RDLR is fantastic? Turn on NESN, you might be surprised. (I guess saying they are all "fantastic" does put them "on the same level" in a way but it's not exactly the same as saying he is "just as good" as them. The stats for this year would easily support even that though, it's just too SSS to say that just yet.)

No question RDLR is having a fantastic stretch right now, but I obviously would not include him in the same category as the other two guys...not yet lol!

I mean you could hardly have picked a worse time to call me out for making an "unsubstantiated claim" that "RDLR is a fantastic starting pitcher".

So Drew is 1-16 in his past 5 games. Money well spent.

Had no issue with noting how great he has been the past month. Just saying, when you want to talk about who you are going to rely on for the rest of the season, you have to focus on Lester and Lackey.

I haven't seen him pitch in a year plus. His mechanics are so smooth now. When I last saw him he was a Tommy John surgery waiting to happen again. He also has a good changeup to go with his 99 mph straight fastball. Then he throws a 97 mph fastball that jammed a lefthander. Pedro should get a lot of credit for helping him. He is our third best pitcher currently on our staff. Hopefully Clay will impress Friday.

In a week if nothing changes RDLR and Workman will be in AAA because they have options. If that doesn't piss everyone off I do not know what would.

The MLB rules as to what's reviewable and what isn't are just as illogical as the NFL rules.
Much to our benefit in this case.

That's a play very few guys will make while on 3B, and is one of those things that Petey does even if he's not necessarily hitting

Not only did Napoli not come very close to making contact, but the catcher held on to the ball and it seemed pretty obvious
That's something that needs to be reviewable

Just to review that inning, there was an unnecessary jump throw on double play, a bloop single that would of been caught if crisp didn't have his heels on the warning track, a strike out that wasn't called, even though there was no contact on a swing and the catcher did catch the ball, and just one hell of a play by Pedroia.

Eck: "He's thrown two bad split-fingers, what's he going to do now?" Orsillo: "Throw another one!" ... an even worse one.

So Taz throws 10 fastballs, splitter, fastball to get his last two batters. Definitely frustrated as he walked back to the dugout.
