Felix Doubrant is DFA/giveaway in a trade material as a middle reliever as arbitration eligible over the winter. Don't see the team paying him 1.5-2m as a long man, or do they? Does he have any trade value by the end of the season that is worth more than as a 2-3IP lefty reliever?

I'm being patient with Drew. Remember, he started 2013 extremely slowly as well, hitting .154/42 wRC+ in March/April (60 PA) before going on to be an extremely solid hitter for the rest of the regular season. He's at 44 PA's this year, and with Farrell limiting his exposure to lefties, the hits should start coming soon enough.
Just watched the clip of Morrison's sac fly last night, on which the M's announcer proclaimed, "Bradley does not have a great arm." Oof.

Trust the projections, guys. Brock Holt is going to hit 8384 wRC+ for the rest of the season (worse than Stephen Drew, who will hit 86 wRC+), and Jake Peavy will attain a 3.96 FIP.
You've got. To. Trust. The. Projections.

Nobody's noticed that in the same game, Felix got his ERA under 5.00 and Bradley got his Ave above .210. High times ahead.

Farrell has got to get Pedey out of the two hole.
Our lineup is uglier than a Stienbrenner family reunion with Pedey "Mr. instant out" in the #2 hole.

Great article by Bradford at WeEI. Hits all the right spots on dead weight on the roster.

So was last night's game just a final try-out for the three pitchers to see who they cut/waive/lose? They've got to get rid of two guys before game-time. I hope for a Peavy and/or Mujica trade (eating salary for a bag of balls).

Great article by Bradford at WeEI. Hits all the right spots on dead weight on the roster. Agree totally, but will the Sox eat salary?. They are not going to get much trading the "dead wood". Very somber mood in Sox nation, and all the Shirley Temples are hiding. Let's face it, the problems began in the off season. First problem, it is hard to field a good team when you eliminate the middle and don't come near replacing them. They either misjudged their rookies, took a bad gamble, or simply get themselves in a corner with no options. Injuries did not help, including Clay's inability to come back from his problems. Felix also regressed. Is Dustin playing with a bad hand? If so, maybe they should sit him for a spell and put Holtz there if Shane ever comes back. No sense assessing blame or defending their moves. They just did not work. Injuries also came. And their better prospects are still in a learning stage, both on the farm and in the majors. I am sure the wheels are spinning, but as Bradford suggests there are some tough decisions ahead.

Breslow, easiest guy to trade right now? Owed 1.6 M for 2nd half.

I liked the look of Nava at the plate last night. He looked like the Nava of 2013. I think he should be in the 2nd hole instead of Pedroia.
Bradley also looked better at the plate. I think running him out there every night is a good idea and will pay off in the long run. His defense alone justifies it. Sometimes I wonder about the announcers for these games. Do they not do any homework? I couldn't believe when that guy said Bradley didn't have a good arm, and then when the ball almost got to the plate before the runner, he didn't say anything.
The Stephen Drew thing looks worse every day. Even though his D is terrific, unlike Bradley, it isn't good enough to justify him in the lineup. If Victorino comes back, I think they should put Holt at 3B and Bogaerts back at SS.
And I really don't how AJP has managed to have such a long career. Maybe it is just his durability. But he doesn't seem to have even an average amount of baseball sense. He certainly shouldn't be in a RBI slot in the lineup. He should hit ninth. At this point, I'd rather see Vasquez get a shot.
And I think Doubront should be given an extended tryout in the BP. I thought he looked pretty good last night, especially in the first inning he pitched. On the other hand, Mujica should be gone.

For anyone who's not seen him play in person, Bradley gets an amazing jump on every ball hit his way. No matter how quickly I turned from the batter to him, he was already well on the move. He's exceptional.
Coming to you from the great northwest

Since Lester is going to get over 100 million in the FA market, and they clearly aren't will to give that to him, it's time to say goodbye. The sooner you trade him, the more you can get.
Like Josh Bell.

like it or not, AJP has been a good hitter this year. Doesn't make him a good player, but he's been a good hitter.
My opinion is still that he is a cancer in the clubhouse and a terrible defender at the most important defensive position and should be gone.
EDIT: scratch that, he's sucked, but he was good for a little while, during our wining moments and had some key hits. Get him out of here.

Like Josh Bell. How do you know they aren't willing to give it to him? I think the idea of trading the best player on your awful team is a recipe for more future disaster. I realize that doesn't make me the smartest guy on the internet..but whatever. They need to keep their valuable players...we are not the Tampa Bay Red Sox.

Really interested to see what happens when Victorino and Carp are back. Nava and JBJ probably get sent down.

Good (although you can guarantee that Capuano will have another stretch of success pitching out of the pen at some point this year). Now the question is -- what's the idea of Workman taking Rubby's start Friday night in NYC? Do they really think that Workman is better, and if so, when was the entire F.O. transported to the planet Bizarro?
