Sweet. my favorite binky Jose Abreu hit homers #24 and #25 tonight. Too bad we didn't have an extra $10 million to get us over the hump on that contract. Oh wait, we did. And instead we wasted it on Stephen Drew. I'm curious, how many times did you see him play in Cuba or attend his workouts ? Or is it that you think the Sox should do their player evaluations based on what evaluators with small resources on the internet think ?

there was an open door for each of the following players to play well and move into the BoSox lineup in Left Field: Snyder Brentz Hassan Corey Brown Carp Ramos
they timed their injury (or slump) at the wrong time ... The Andres Torres era is about to begin.

Do you think you get extra credit by continuing to highlight his exploits? You didn't discover him and you're not close to being the only fan that wanted him. We all wanted him. The Red Sox wanted and made a very competitive bid for him. He may have gone to the White Sox regardless because they offered the easiest path to the majors. Would you have preferred that the Red Sox guaranteed him a spot at the risk of creating a distraction for Napoli and the team in the middle of the World Series? Talking about your "binky" and his dingers doesn't make you a scouting savant. It just makes you annoying.

If you're going to express anger, at least know what you're angry about:

It's no secret that the Red Sox offense is struggling. The team has 59 home runs as a team. Abreu has 25 by himself.

I'm thrilled with the Red Sox. They've given me three championships in the last decade and a farm system that is baseball junkie porn. The fact that this is a bridge year doesn't bother me. We're not MFY fans. The odd down year at the major league level is a small price to pay to build sustainable success. What I am is severely annoyed at your constant harping on Abreu and his dingers like they are the be all and end all of a successful offense. The way you bring him up all the time you'd think the guy was Mike Trout. Newsflash: We didn't miss out on Mike Trout here. Adding Abreu would've been nice, but he wouldn't single-handedly make the 2014 Red Sox a playoff team. The bread and butter of a great offense is OBP, not power. The Red Sox aren't struggling to score runs because of a power outage. They're struggling to score runs because the lineup is full of automatic outs. Not every free agent you want to add is going to sign with the Red Sox. Not every free agent the Red Sox pursue wants to come to Boston. You're not making some brilliant, insightful point by repeatedly yammering on and on and on about the same guy. Front offices miss on free agents sometimes. Please learn to accept this.

I bet we have an 89% chance of being no hit tomorrow, or perfectod Why, does Brock Holt get a scheduled day off?

He currently leads Napoli by 0.9, 0.9, and 0.2 WAR (FG, BP, b-ref). That projects to about 1.5 on the season.

It's like we're breaking away from the game for Sosa and McGuire at-bats in these threads, except it's for Abreu.

We'd prob be as good as the White Sox if we had Abreu instead of Napoli.

Hey, y'all won't believe this. I had this awful nightmare last night that the Red Sox were totally shut down by Vidal Nuno. Right? He was just throwing belt-high 91 mph fastball straight by dudes all night.

Hell, it is just a posting board, usually full of raw emotion, contradictions, and some good info and insights. So be it. Don't take it serious. I believe you never have enough bitching, but I have some beefs, mainly with some (two) of the moderators who constantly have to show how brilliant they are and so superior to us clods. Very condescending. If you say white to them, they would come back and say black. They also consistently defend and spin for management. But I have to temper my disgust with a chuckle and the realization that this is their moment of fame under the sun. But so what, whatever gets you through the day. They provide chuckles for me anywhoo. If you don't want people criticizing your arguments, make stronger arguments.

Kind of rough going west coast to east coast overnight without a day off. Not sure the MLB schedulers did us any favors there.
I'm not using travel as an excuse for the putrid offense, (I think a lack of passion and/or effort and/or focus is more to blame) but I think travel was a contributing factor.

He was just throwing belt-high 91 mph fastball straight by dudes all night. It's unreal that we scored 853 runs last year. We've played 80 games and scored 301 so far. That pace will put us a mind-boggling 250 runs lower than the year before.

What are you talking about? We were off Thursday. No excuse for that performance last night. To quote our buddy Temple; "GUTLESS." We like to blame everyone but the players. Why don't we blame them once in a while? Not the guy who signed them.

Perhaps you live in a world where Thursdays don't exist, but the Red Sox were off that day. It is rare to have a West Coast night game without a day off where the next game is on the East Coast. Give the schedulers some credit.

Thank goodness that Mookie was not called up on Thursday ... he would ride beneath the street of Gotham and he'd never return. We'd live in a world where Mookie don't exist.
