This coming week's pitcher of the week voting should be a difficult choice.

Anthony is 2-0 in Boston, he could win 20 games this year.

Ranaudo and B.Johnson both need promotions. Maybe with Workman should go to bullpen for now? I think he is a perfect Masterson when we had him a few years ago.

Ranaudo remains scheduled to start today for Pawtucket; could be a rotation consideration against Tampa Bay later in the week.

Ranaudo did start the game. I'm guessing he isn't going to get 100 pitches to work with.
PawSox ?@pawsox 1h PawSox look to bounce back with professional baseball's wins leader, Anthony Ranaudo on the hill against Buffalo pic.twitter.com/8drfQVMcCM
PawSox ?@pawsox 19m Anthony Ranaudo hits Ryan Goins with a pitch in the 1st, warnings issued to both teams. 0-0 game into the 2nd. #WildCardFever
Must be something going on.
Catching THAT Mike Lee is THAT George Kottaras (as opposed to all the other George Kottarases in baseball).
PawSox nutin' nutin' after 4. SeaDogs nutin' nutin' after 2.
Ranaudo gave up 2 in the fifth, both solo HRs one by the aforementioned Kottaras. PawSox down 2-0 after 5.

Cecchini is in the process of finishing off the year in an optimistic note, unless he hitting a lot of dinky singles. Like to see them bring him up this September to see what he can do. Brentz is also finishing off okay, at least showing power. Although he has questions marks, it may be worthwhile to see what he can do this September.

Im of the opposite mindset. Let him finish off the year, and go into next with NO chance of making the roster before the ASB. Get him AAA at bats, let him prove he can hit, and develop into a complete hitter. Im hoping after the Betts/JBj/Bogaerts experiments, the FO will realize that most players need AAA at bats.

Just waiting for Boston to finish up. I'm working out the finer points of a mathematical theorem for a Portland karma theory. A Boston loss tonight and it's beyond reasonable probability of not being causual. Portland might not like it but I can save the Sox hundreds of millions.

What was ball's line?

Through 5, Ball has 1R 0ER 2H 3K 2BB. He's only through 80 pitches so he could still come out for the 6th.

Asuaje is doing very well at Salem, hitting about 330. He is listed 40th in the prospects ranking and his profile questions his power, but he has 15 hrs, 32 double and about 12 triples for the year and his power numbers at Salem are about at the same rate as in Greeneville. As most players who all of a sudden pop up, they say projection is a utility guy ( or fourth outfielder). Is it time to reevaluate.

I watched him closely at Greenville earlier this year and while he is a compact player, he generated good power with his lower body and made solid contact.

Congrats to Rivero for making the show. Cool, I've thought for a while now that Rivero would be a better PawSox taxi guy than Phillips, McCoy, Herrera, Gibson, et al. He has some pop in his bat, pretty much plays everywhere and although not a great defender is relatively steady everywhere.
