It's a girl from New Jersey. 3:23ish "I knew him long before he ever became a Jersey girl." The song is one long stream of Springsteen references and that's a Ton Waits song he'd covered. Not sure what he means by it there. Might just be Dylan being mysterious for mystery's sake?

Bruce is on the JV team.

Was there anything wrong with what I said? Were you trying to find the Tom Waits song that Bruce covered? If so, the name of the song is "Jersey Girl". Waits has been ripped off so many times and is 2 times the songwriter that Springsteen could ever dream of being. Does that make sense?

I chimed in with possible meanings of the line. I was not discussing the merits of any person or song involved. The song contains a bunch of Springsteen references. I noted that Jersey Girl is a Ton Waits song that Springsteen covered. Then you came in apparently trying to start an argument that had little to do with anything I posted.

OK, why were you all holding out on me on John Prine? I have to admit near-total ignorance about his music until he recently passed away, but after finally doing an initial foray into his catalog, the man was a genius. I knew Angel from Montgomery but didn't know he wrote it.
Anyone got recommendations on his stuff?

I like everything from: Hardcore Death Metal Hip Hop (like Wu Tang, Czarface, Aesop Rock) Pop Punk Metal instrumentals
Lately, for getting through a workday, I've been listening to a lot of Plini, especially Electric Sunrise or Handmade Cities. It's progressive metal without any vocals. If you're familiar with Animals as Leaders, same genre.
It's music I would recommend to literally anyone.

RIP, EVH. This guy was and his band were a big part of my life as a young person. I hope he is jamming with people like SRV and Hendrix right now.

Shit part is you can't put some Van Halen to mourn. Van Halen wasn't mourning music, it was bombastic badass music that you can't help but smile to. RIP Eddie you absolute legend.

I’ve been pumping it all day long. One of the bands that I regret never having saw play live.

Caught VH on the Different Kind of Truth tour and was very happy I did. DLR doesn't really have it anymore (he's a showman, but the voice isn't the same and the fact they did a slow-motion replay of every single jump he did was excruciating by the end), but getting to see Eddie live was awesome.
I'd mostly kept to the first album and Best of Both Worlds (which, if there ever needed to be evidence of which era of Van Halen was better... there it is), but I've been making my way through the discography since last week. Through the first four albums the first record is clearly the best, but it's probably also one of the best rock albums ever.

Cool but I'm not quite sure what the numbers are supposed to be representing. Sales in a quarter?

Cool but I'm not quite sure what the numbers are supposed to be representing. Sales in a quarter? Says best selling and it's divided up into quarters. I just found it interesting, particularly in the periods I was following music less than usual. The quarters would explain why artists like Flo Rida showed up in multiple panels, basically one hit then mostly followed by dribble.

Well it also says digital singles, which I guess would include streaming. Explains why the numbers jump.
The artists line up, just would've been nice to know what the numbers meant. Not a big deal though - it's cool.
