Jerry Crasnick ?@jcrasnick 16m16 minutes ago Pennsylvania, USA This is apropos of nothing, but one person who knows Loria well says he's always been "enamored with" Bobby Valentine.
YES!!!

I can't ever remember a manager for any team having a worse year than Valentine in 2012. If that guy gets another job there's just no standard for managers.

What, so he could bring him into the front office management team as a hatchet man? I suppose he could always be the face of the franchise, or some other body part.

The Marlins just demoted their GM to manager while the Red Sox, on any given night, have 37,673 fans who think they should be promoted to team manager. I think the Orioles and White Sox might have been onto something when they locked everyone out.

After his 18 K 8 inning game, Kluber comes in a strikes out the first 5 batters he faces. That breaking ball to Garcia... absolutely ridiculous. m.mlb.com/video/v121102383

I dislike camouflage uniforms in general, but these Mets ones seem particularly hideous.

Rubby De La Rosa's line tonight: 9 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K. I'll never understand why it was so important to team brass to give up on Rubby so quickly. The level of impatience with young starting pitchers in Boston has become anathema to anyone interested in this team's financial flexibility and thereby sustained long-term success. Stockpile young starting pitching, promote but don't give enough time to become established, trade for dubious yet far more expensive talent, dismiss resigning said talent as financially unwise, wash, rinse, repeat.

Because Felix Doubront is tearing it up right now? What are the data points here?

This coming from the guy who accuses everyone of being a prospect coddler because they don't want to trade all of them.

People were all over Harper after his sub par season last year. Boy, has he responded: 218 wRC+, .401 ISO, 3.1 fWAR. Ridiculous numbers. Cue the Harper vs. Trout debate.

Harper's walk rate stood at 21.1% prior to today's game. He's doing a credible Barry Bonds impression right now.

Reds manager Bryan Price ejected from today's game before it even started: t.co/DdvkNkHvFmThen his Reds lost their seventh straight. If anyone needs a good pitching coach, there's one who will be available soon. Bryce Harper went 0 for 4, and his slugging percentage dropped to .729. Guessing there are still people who think he is overrated, though.
