Another one in the 4th, for 8 on the day - first time I've been encouraged by a Ball start in probably a year. Hope he keeps proving me wrong

Wish I knew more of the details about his outing tonight. The milb.com log claims all Ks were of the swinging variety. If that's true and he's getting that many swings-and-misses, then that's obviously a good sign.

Waiting for the obligatory report about Ball changing something in his delivery before this start...

Box score says he's done. 5.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 9/2 K/BB. Very encouraging to say the least.

Waiting for the obligatory report about Ball changing something in his delivery before this start... He decided to finally throw with his left hand this time.

Sox need a hitter, should call Trey Ball up.

Aside from the encouraging outing from Trey: Lin seems to be hitting this year and for some power (in relation to his power the last years). How likely would be a promotion to Portland this season? And could he be someone we see in the majors sometime?
Also: Anyone seen Owens start? Maybe a scouting report around? Thanks!

This was from 2 weeks ago - news.soxprospects.com/2015/05/the-write-up-henry-owens.html He's incorporating a new pitch on the fly in his first year in AAA. And he had some control struggles to begin with. Owens is clearly a work in progress. I think that's fine. They don't need him this year. He's not on the 40-man. He can be in AAA all year working on the new pitch, fastball command, and consistency.

And could he be someone we see in the majors sometime? If he continues his current play (bad April, good May, great June), I would expect him to make a late-summer stop in Portland (post-trade deadline). Beyond that, who knows? Full-season SS depth: Majors - Bogaerts, Bianchi/Holt (UT) AAA - Marrero AA - Hernandez, Vinicio (UT) A+ - Lin A - Guerra/Dubon

Low to mid-90s? I wonder how often he gets to "mid" in that description ... nine Ks and all swinging is missing bats. Good to see, although it's just one game. But he struck out Clint Frazier! We win the 2013 draft!

Ian saw Owens after Chaz's report and corroborated everything. He'd have a guy set up to put him away, a count where he'd typically just destroy him with the changeup, and he'd throw the curve. Less exciting for fans because the numbers get hurt as a result, but I am ecstatic about that. We'll just have to see if it takes.

Yes, since I follow him more closely then any other of our prospects, I know the reports and know about the development. Just wanted to check if maybe something changed or if it's still the same process.
