I don't think Pat Light will stay ith Patucket for long: That Splitter off the High 90s Fastball is just unfair for AAA hitters. I posted about it in the minor league game thread two days ago but it's worth mentioning again. Al Skopura called his stuff filthy, said he's a future closer, and gave a 7 grade (2-8 scale) to his FB and Splitter.

Would this put his stuff in the neighborhood of a Billy Wagner? Just asking.

I guess my concern/question would be his fastball command and whether it has any movement. I think there were reports his fb was flat and quite hittable. It certainly looks like he's off to a good start in AAA so far.

I see from the Cup of Coffee blurbs this morning that the Red Sox have their own "amphibious" pitcher--Michael Kopech, who seems to have decided to pitch left handed yesterday.

Brian MacPherson @brianmacp 21h21 hours ago "Pat Light comes out of the bullpen throwing a sinker that registers at 97 with what felt like half a foot of movement away from a lefty."

Before the season I posted about Light & Mercedes transitioning to the pen and seeing an uptick in their stuff. At least I was right on one of them (so far).
