Ashe Russell says he's like Clay Buccholz because they both work at a fast pace....

The second the camera focused on Ashe Russell I thought, "don't draft him, he looks too much like Clay Buchholz". Then they bring up the comparison seconds later.
I'm all about Brendan Rodgers though, always have been. I think he's the best player in the draft and will be the best player in this class. I know it's virtually impossible that he falls, but I'll hold out hope.
My top 10: 1) Brendan Rodgers 2) Dillon Tate 3) Dansby Swanson 4) Carson Fulmer 5) Tyler Jay 6) Andrew Benintendi 7) Daz Cameron 8) Alex Bregman 9) Garrett Whitley 10) Brady Aiken WC) Josh Naylor (love the power)

Harold Reynolds starting off strong with pre-draft coverage, on considering HS catcher Tyler Stephenson for the first pick... "Hey, they say don't go catcher with the first pick, but I always say, all those Latin guys, those Latin catchers, they didn't go to college!" Smh. LOL had the same thought. I can't wait until he repeats what he did last year, comparing every black middle infielder to Erick Aybar.

I would love either Fulmer or Tucker, hopefully one of those 2 make it to us.

Lol, Ashe Russell on his comparisons to Buchholz: We both work fast. We have similar deliveries. My girlfriend had to pee twice in one half inning of Buccholz yesterday

For the sox at 7 I like Fulmer, Benintendi, Bregman if he drops and Cameron.... Of course that's if there are no super surprises that has one of the top 3 falling.

Callis and Mayo updated their mock. It stayed the same for the Sox
7. Red Sox Callis: RHP Carson Fulmer, Vanderbilt Mayo: Benintendi

Stupid question, but do we have permission to redraft Fullmer/Bregman? I think Aiken did not give Houston permission to redraft him. I also think that the player has to sign something saying that the team can redraft him rather than having to opt out.

Naylor is one of the youngest high school players in the draft and Haap is one of the youngest college players.

If Red Sox are going to off the board, I wouldn't be too upset with Josh Naylor. From the way Cherington and Henry have talked about the lack of power in the game and changing philosophy, you kind of get the hint they might reach for the best power bat.

That being said I'm assuming both Fullmer and Bregman did give permission to Sox to redraft since it hasn't been reported.

For me it just depends how much they save and how they are able to reallocate that money. If they are able to land a guy or two that falls because of it, I'm ikay with Naylor.

I think permission is generally granted unless there was a bad negotiation or some other bad feelings.

The smartest thing that ESPN did with the NFL draft was have a dedicated draft guy anchor their coverage (say what you want about the actual quality of Mel Kiper, at least he has some familiarity with the players). It is moronic for MLB Network to build their coverage around Harold Reynolds, when they have access to Callis and Mayo.

Swansons going to have a good next few minutes. Vandy's about to clinch a college World Series birth any minute.

Just gave hard time going with a 1B only type guy at #7. I'd prefer Whitley, but they won't get as much for savings. Not sure how much underslot he'd go. Not too much, i guess. But maybe enough to reallocate to later rounds.

I have no problem with the Sox going for an underslot guy, if they legitimately like him. I think Cubs last year with Schwarber is the ideal situation.

JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 1 min. Ok much more confident. Dansby Swanson going 1-1 to D-backs, multiple, multiple sources.
Jim Bowden @jimbowden_ESPN 1 min. Diamondbacks are selecting Dansby Swanson with first pick according to source
