Not a terribly sexy start to Day 3, but I get it. The biggest names are still on the board, so its probably reasonable to assume their signability concerns are very legit. There's a reason for that. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. I don't think we really have enough money left for anybody too great anyway.

Nelson is the first SS drafted by the Sox. The kid can hit but that high leg kick may be a problem against better pitching.

Did I just hear someone drafted from mycomputercareer.edu?
It's hard to believe all these colleges have baseball teams.

MLB.com lists redshirt juniors as seniors. We call them juniors because it's more accurate.

Other guys I like: Gio Brusa: highly rated coming into the year but hasn't stayed healthy Marcus Brakeman: good when healthy but a lot of durability issues Kyri Washington: Super raw as a hitter but huge ceiling if he can figure it out. AJ Simcox: good defender but questionable hit tool Tucker Forbes: huge 6-8 RHP reliever who doesn't have a lot of miles on the arm I'm all in on A J. I'm sure his tools are all natural and he may even share a nickname with that kid from "Outside Providence"! The possibilities are endless. Good news ...Simcox is a tiger...keep it clean kids

Yomar Valentin, 2B, PR baseball academy (son of Jose Valentin) Could have covered the Sox whole 90s SS if he'd called him Nomar Valentin.

Do we have the ability to sign 100% of our picks so far? Seems like we have the cap room and they are reasonably signable.

Imagine we drafted in 2012 Bregman and Fulmer, what if we signed them went over the money it might of been worth it? To take the penalty.

It fascinates me that the Red Sox (and I am sure other teams) approach the draft with a list of approx. 300 possible picks and do not get to the bottom of that list in 40 rounds. Almost 1,300 players will be drafted and there is a good deal of disagreement about the potential of the players in the talent pool.
