Max Watt...I believe we drafted him in the 37th round in 2013. Yes, 37 1103 Max Watt # RHP Hillsborough CC (FL) Some guys here stevefrombradenton might have seen drafted by the Sox today? No prep kids drafted locally (lakeland/Winter haven) this year by them so far.

Kyri Washington, OF, Longwood University. He's def an overslot guy. Ranked #173 on PG and #149 on BA.
Washington’s tools are loud, but his floor is low, which prevents him from climbing significantly higher on this list. The Virginia native is built like a fullback, with wide shoulders and chiseled and sculpted body. The righthanded hitter has plus power, which comes from a back-elbow heavy swing that can sometimes cause him to lose balance and can push his bat out of the hitting zone early. This, coupled with Washington’s raw approach and poor strike zone awareness, leads to severe swing-and-miss issues. He struck out in 28 percent of plate appearances this season. Still, Washington has improved from year-to-year, and he receives good marks for his makeup, giving him a chance to make adjustments and develop further at the plate. Washington has an average arm and is an average runner, though he has played mostly left field and profiles best there defensively. The team that takes Washington will likely be optimistic about his upside as a hitter, while those who are off on him do not believe his hit tool will develop enough fo

Imagine we drafted in 2012 Bregman and Fulmer, what if we signed them went over the money it might of been worth it? To take the penalty. I mean, maybe if we're being purely results based three years out, then yes, I would certainly rather have Bregman and Fulmer than Ball and Stankiewicz or Ball and Chavis. That said, you can't be certain at the time that Bregman and Fulmer are going to pan out like they have (for context: Austin Maddox was ranked higher by both BA and PG and Jamie Callahan was ranked comparably), nor can you be certain about what players you're giving up in the future - say the Sox wind up with the number 2 pick that year and get Bryant, or if they'd been particularly high on J.P. Crawford and picked him at 7 instead, that would certainly change things. You would also be assuming that there was, in fact, a dollar figure that would have gotten them to sign. There just may not have been one. Sometimes guys want to go to school because it's important to the family or something like that..

Andrew Noviello, 2B/C/RHP, Bridgewater-Raynham HS.. Best HS player in MA.. #207 on BA and a UMaine Committ.
Noviello is a high ceiling offensive player with the potential for power from the left side. He shows some pitch recognition skills, and his timing has come along as he’s matured. Noviello has above-average arm strength in the infield, but he lacks the closing speed and body control expected of second baseman so he has transitioned to catching this spring. Noviello is raw behind the plate, but some scouts believe he can stay there. Noviello was a bit of a tweener before converting to catching, and could now develop into a solid up-the-middle player. He is far from his ceiling, so he may end up at school. Noviello has a fallback option on the mound, where he has touched 92 with his fastball in the past. He is committed to Maine.
