I went to the Cotuit @ Bourne game last week and got some videos of Ryan Boldt at bat.
Here are the clips:
I'm planning on going to Y-D tonight to see the Red Sox face-off against the Firebirds and then maybe catch the end of the Falmouth @ Bourne game afterwards. I'm planning on getting some videos of Nathan Rodriguez, Stephen Wrenn, Jeremy Martinez, Bryson Brigman, and Bobby Dalbec.
Anybody have any players of interest on the Cape?

Videos of Bobby Dalbec (IF Arizona Draft Eligible 2016) at bat on June 17, 2015:
While he didn't do much in either of these trips to the plate, Dalbec has been very good so far on the Cape this summer. He has strength and a good approach at the plate. He also fielded the position adequately at third base and moved well for his size.

Is it worth putting these games on Comcast ? Nesn . The exposure would help the league.

Is it worth putting these games on Comcast ? Nesn . The exposure would help the league. I think that it would be worth putting Cape League games on TV, although I'm not sure that there would be a huge audience for them. I think that you have to be able to appreciate the college game (hitting to get on base, bunting, stealing, sacrificing to move the runner, the importance of good catching behind the plate, not too focused on power or home runs) in order to truly enjoy watching Cape league baseball.

Videos of Stephen Wrenn (OF Georgia Draft Eligible 2016) at bat June 17, 2015:
While Wrenn didn't do much here either, you can see his speed and athleticism down the base paths. He is tall and lean with lots of room to fill-out. He could be a guy who might tap into his power in a few years and become more of a five-tool prospect.

Video of Bryson Brigman (IF San Diego Draft Eligible 2017):
Of all the players that I saw yesterday at the Orleans Firebirds v. Y-D Red Sox game, I was most impressed by Brigman. He showed a good approach at the plate, line-drive power, speed, and good athleticism at second base. He and Dalbec are leaving the Cape to join Team USA later this week, but might return after the Collegiate National Team's season ends in early July.

Videos of Ryan Boldt (OF Nebraska Draft Eligible 2016) at bat June 17, 2015:
Boldt looked good again at the plate and in the field. As a testament to his skills at the plate, he was intentionally walked in the bottom of the ninth inning in a tied game with a runner at third base. He then stole second base.

www.capecodbaseball.org/Thanks for the pics and clips. This will be my first year in some time not going to any games. Moved my frozen butt down to Georgia after the last few winters. The web site has plenty of info for those interested. Go Harbor Hawks.

Just think, Bregman, Boldt, Sheffield all were drafted and we know the rest.... The complaining about not signing these guys even though they were drafted is like lamenting that you didn't buy a Ferrari that you couldn't afford but did test drive. You think, why not? Maybe after the test drive the guy at the dealership would really really like you and decide to give you a discount! But of course, that doesn't actually happen and your Ferrari ends up in Nebraska. Tf there was a chance that Bregman and Boldt could have signed out of high school then they wouldn't have been available to the Red Sox in the first place.

Boldt was looking for $2.5M I believe, which would have been tough, but not 100% impossible. Not as familiar with Bregman's negotiations, but have to think it was at least on the table.

They didn't have $2.5 million remaining in that draft pool.
Do you honestly think that if those players were signable that a) the Red Sox wouldn't have signed them, and b) every other team would have passed on them over a dozen times?
EDIT: One nice thing about the draft pool system is it has eliminated a lot (but clearly not all) of the screeching that would happen when an unsignable HS player was drafted and then, inevitably, didn't sign.

Bregman did not for one second consider signing. There was no "price" for him. A friend of mine taught at his high school when he went there and said he was absolutely infatuated with attending LSU. He was not signing.

Not too much to see in these clips, but I think that they still highlight an overall good approach and swing.

Didn't do much in these at bats, but you can check-out his swing and approach if you're interested.

Some more video of Ryan Boldt from July 1. I had hoped to get some video of Cavan Biggio and Sheldon Neuse with Harwich, but neither was in the lineup that day.

I think that it would be worth putting Cape League games on TV, although I'm not sure that there would be a huge audience for them. I don't know the financials, but I can't imagine setting up cameras for MiLBtv broadcasts is extremely expensive. These teams already have radio broadcasts that can be used. I figure with MLB's hostile takeover of MiLB paired with their funding of the Cape League, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to have the Cape League included in an MiLBtv subscription. I know I'd watch. Speaking as an intern for the 2021 season in the NECBL, I know I'd see it as more of an opportunity to learn the more modern side of baseball broadcasts.
