Last 4 starts for AE: 16 7 1 0 1 23, 0 HR, 2 HB. 0.89 FIP. 25 GB, 4 LD, and 3 Outfield FB, plus 1 bunt (78.1% GB). He had a 3.03 FIP in his first 6 starts, but a 67.6% GB%. His overall GB% is precisely 71.0%, and his FIP is 2.18. You lie! Did you get that off some fantasy league metric box score?!

Brandon Magee to the Lowell restricted list. My guess is some NFL team brought him into camp.

Greenville day off. Espinoza's GB% is just absurd. No walks again too.

Tyler Spoon in LF for Lowell tonight. Earlier in the year, it was reported that he was in Fort Meyers as he was converting to catcher. I am wondering if he's still working on that. Did it not go well? Did it ever really happen?

Speaking of Lowell, they're up 8-2 after 5, with only 1 player (Kyri Washington, who seems to be playing better lately) having more than 1 hit, no HR's, and only 3BB's.
Almonte putting up what seems like a typical line - 5IP, 3H, 2R, 5K, 5BB. He seems tough to hit, but walks WAY too many batters.

Did it not go well? Did it ever really happen? He was a catcher with the GCL Sox and I spoke with a Sox official who confirmed he was converting. Since being promoted to Lowell, he has been playing left. I figure either a) it didn't go well and they scuttled it already (unlikely, I figure), or b) it went well, but they moved him up to a more appropriate level to work on hitting and they're letting him play LF while there.

I thought that was you that reported it, Chris, but can't remember the source or how sure that was. Anyway, "b)" makes some sense. Hard to believe they'd move away from the conversion so quickly.

Not sure I can take credit for reporting something that was just in the various box scores, but yeah, I'm inclined to think it's B too.

Still is weary that a guy like Chris Capuano (NYY-SWB (AAA)) is still starting. Put him in the bullpen like we did back for a little in '14, he's horrible. He is old (37 yrs.) and, coming from a diehard Sox fan, is hoping he becomes AAA long man. Also, hope Lowell goes on roll. Because without [Andrew] Benintendi, everyone except [Sean] Coyle is not that good at hitting. (Slumps for a lot of guys. Went other day.)
