You're posting a Laird tweet of a Bradford tweet announcing a Bradford chat? EDIT: Never mind me. I'm just grouchy today.

LOL, I could have bolded the discuss-able part.

Brian Johnson was elated after 1st game since last August. PawSox pitching coach Bob Kipper told him he was 'night and day' from end of '15

Given all the silly hoopla from the start of spring training, I'm surprised there's so little discussion/insight on how Hanley looks at 1B (I don't know, genuinely wondering). I take it that means he looks ok. And I fully expect people to leap out of the woodwork once he gets his first couple of errors.

Carson Smith came in to get 3 straight ground ball outs with no Hanley errors.

Hanley hasn't had any difficult plays that I've seen. He had a recovered bobble on a high chopper in the first inning today. Looks OK stretching at first but no extreme stretches.
Not much 'scouting' to go on, likely more info from watching infield practice.

Eduardo Rodriguez said that outside of some swelling, his knee felt good. No issues throwing.

Pretty impressive to be the #6 prospect at age 8. Definitely somebody to watch and somebody with high helium potential.

According to Tim Britton's First Pitch newsletter, Rodriguez is working on adding a cutter this spring.
Like a pitcher working on a new cutter in spring — hey, that’s exactly what Rodriguez is doing!
Appologies if that was previously reported.

We just uploaded our latest episode of the podcast, with guest Peter Abraham. He had some really good info from Fort Myers, including some interesting stuff on Sam Travis and Yoan Moncada. news.soxprospects.com/2016/03/podcast-ep-91-camp-talk-with-peter.htmlFor what it's worth, after our chat with Peter, I'm leaning a lot more towards Moncada starting in Portland than I was previously...

At one point this winter I am certain I heard or read a baseball ops guy say he was heading to Salem in part to avoid Portland April weather and all the **** that come with it.

We have El Nino conditions in the US.
To me, given his experience in Cuba where the average pitcher he faced was more an equivalent to AA than high A, starting at Portland makes more sense. The rust is off and he's acclimated to the USA.
The bigger issue is when they move him to 3B.... (post super two cutoff date plan C or D for Boston 3B).

Appologies if that was previously reported. He introduced it in his last start of 2015. I've been talking all winter about the potential impact of his expanding his repertoire from 3 to 5 pitches, since he also added a sinker over the previous 7 starts. And he mentioned to Abraham that Price is helping him with "my curve."

I couldn't remember if a cutter was specifically mentioned. I did recall the repertoire conversations.

All of the prospects/young players just keep impressing.
Basabe, Espinoza, and Kopech gain serious weight this past off-season.
Benintendi and Moncada sounds like they'll be in Portland instead of Salem.
Sam Travis keeps hitting, no matter what league he is in. Whether if he's in the minors, spring training, or in the Arizona fall league.
Johnson sounds like his arm is completely fine.
Owens came into camp "in the best shape of his life." (I know everyone says this but I'm still pumped over it).
The only guy to have suffered a set back was Rodriguez and it sounds like he'll be okay too.
What a exciting time to be a Sox fan. What a core of good young players. I want to see a Sox dynasty before I'm dead. These players at least might give it a shot at a dynasty.

This is the fourth or fifth guy in the organization that's under the age of 25 with five tool potential. This is ridiculous. 5 years from now, I know we all will be looking back and saying this was the best time to ever be a Sox fan.

Well, let's remember, "five-tool potential" is much different than actually possessing five plus or even above-average tools.

Either way, it's still crazy to see so many dynamic players playing for the same organization at the same time. The Sox probably have the best collection of 25 and under talent than any other team has in baseball right now....

History has dashed many a hope for me so I want it to happen, hope that it happens but don't bank on it happening. Still it's nice to see a good number of exciting prospects.
