FTFY (: And to be completely fair, Porcello is throwing cheese right now. They're down by all of one run, and Toronto is probably the best offensive team in the league. Yeah, and he's really only been bad in the first inning. He was lucky to get out of that inning alive, but other than that, Donaldson got him, and he threw a terrible pitch to Bautista. He hasn't been good (letting the ball get up too much), but he hasn't been that bad since the first.

Well Castillo was ready to play today. Getting to third there huge with the pass ball possibility

Mookie looks awful today. Threw away a run there.

“I think when people start talking about [judging a pitcher based on his first two to three starts], they don’t really understand the game very well,” Dombrowski added.

I always hear people talk about Rick Porcello and keeping the ball down.
Porcello doesn't pitch anywhere but up in the zone. Not sure where the sinkerballer myth came from.

They're down by all of one run, and Toronto is probably the best second-best offensive team in the league. Fixed that for ya after seeing a few games of the Red Sox.

The closest thing to an RBI Pablo will have this month.

Now it's 7-4!! Man, knuckleballs are so much fun.
Add: I should head back outside so they can score again

In a game where the offense is on point.
Pablo Sandoval is 0-3 with 3K, an error and a broken belt.

Farrell's moves have been pretty good so far. Giving LF to the Brockstar & 3rd to Shaw, giving Castillo a start today ...

Castillo's a good outfielder. Word. He fielded like 2 really hard hit balls in this game.

I note that Dave O'Brian refers to most players by their surname, but consistently calls Travis Shaw by his first name only. This is a habit he may eventually have to change...

The offense looks great. Porcello didn't have it but he's still around in the 6th. Better than the last two starters. The bullpen will need lots of ice this year.

I feel like Pedroia has made that same exact play about a thousand times in his career

Porcello settled down after the first. Made another mistake to Bautista but otherwise bottled the Jays up. 7/1 K/BB.

Assuming he's done for the day, Porcello ends up with a 3.49 xFIP.

Porcello got progressively better as the game went on. He couldn't locate in the first and was lucky to only give up two, then really only was hurt by his horrific pitch to Bautista on Joey Bats's second HR. By the end, he was getting groundballs. I was encouraged. Did I miss Tommy Layne getting hurt? Where is he?
