Turns out having to strike everyone out two or three times will run up your pitch count quite a bit, Clay definitely not going past 6 today.

I'm not watching NESN but I imagine someone complimented Brock on making a "great out" there? Steve Lyons continues to be a master of the lukewarm take. Did you know that Dustin Pedroia plays hard and guys should bunt against the shift more? Lyons is terrible. He makes me miss Remy, which I did not think was possible. But he loves cliches and repeating the same pieces of information. He also pretty obviously knows next to nothing about the players on the other team other than what they're telling him in his earpiece.

Wow. Wow wow wow.
So even JF noticed Young is no good against RHP and he's like, "hey Dave, what am I supposed to do, PH Rutledge or what?"

This is what? The fourth time in the past week that a ninth inning rally comes up short because we pissed the game away the half inning before? Just reposting this, because it's still true.

Terrible roster construction. The decision to let Murphy go was dumb. They needed a left handed bat off the bench who can play OF and stick in a hit every now and then against a righty. If they weren't going to keep Castillo around and it's obvious they had no plan for him, then why'd they keep him on the roster to start the season? It doesn't make sense. I think Murphy has an opt-out that the Twins need to exercise soon. Whether it's Murphy or somebody else not having a LH hitting OF bench player doesn't make sense.

Murphy is OPSing .479 right now in AAA. PS: I agree on the lack of creativity in the roster construction.

Can't imagine this is going the way Dombrowski expected it to lol It's early. The biggest issues are that the #1 and #2 starting pitchers aren't pitching like a #1 and #2 should. Not having an LH bat off the bench for the OF is dumb. Our manager can't handle his bullpen and they dearly miss what Carson Smith was for the M's last year.

Murphy is OPSing .479 right now in AAA. I think his career numbers are more telling than a handful of ABs, don't you? Whether it's him or some other lefty stick who can come off the bench, like DeAza last year, the Sox need that kind of a bat as a bench player so they're not stuck with Young against a righty as often as they have been this year.
