The Sox don't have a hitting problem. At .273 they have the third highest team BA in both leagues. They could use more HRs with only 13 so far. They are scoring nearly five runs a game. Unfortunately, they also are giving up five runs a game.
There is no replacement for JBJ unless they trade for one.
If they make any trades almost certainly pitching is what they will go after. With a team ERA of 4.83 they are 26th. That has to improve considerably if they are to go to the post season.

Price and Buchholz has been disappointments thus far. Porcello and wright a surprise. The bullpen very disappointing, but they have been over used this far this season.

Price really hasn't been a disappointment though. His xFIP is 2.83 and he's at 13.29 K/9. He's at 16 percent for swings and misses, compared to a career number of 9.5. He's been pretty dominant but has been hurt by .396 BABIP.

No worries for Houston. The Sox don't hit with the bases loaded.

Prefer the neighborhood play, don't really think that is right. Manager of the Year....John Farrell.

I've always hated the neighborhood play. If they don't do it at first, then it shouldn't happen at 2nd. But I've never been a fan of take-out slides on a force out, too. Why should a guy who is already out have influence on an ongoing play?

Some of those pitches called against Holt were atrocious. Good for him to get at least a sac fly with arguably the bigges strike zone ive ever seen for a hitter.

Large zone for Feldman (Was he the guy that the Orioles traded for sending Arrieta to the Cubs?) hopefully they give the same to Owens.

And then Owens walks him on strike 3. Alright I've got my umpire complaints out of the way for the week.

Why should a guy who is already out have influence on an ongoing play? But the neighboorhood play was only on double plays, any force play required contact with the base just like 1st base. I always felt it was appropriate for player safety.

Lot of pitches...didn't give in. Lack of fastball command is frustrating, but i like his pitching motion and competitiveness. I think he can be a big league starter.

how can a home plate umpire call a strike on a swing when he's looking at the pitch? I never understood that.
