Should we rename it the college seniors draft day?

I'm no expert, but when I look at the top 10 picks, I'd guess the Red Sox don't have much extra money to spend on these next thirty. Good news is they drafted Groome, and have found value at <=$100k signings before.

Should we rename it the college seniors draft day? That was probably more yesterday than today. Today will be a mix of $100K signings, signability guys (in case Groome doesn't sign and they have extra money, or they just want to get to know them better for three years down the road), and roster filler.

I think that over the past four years, we've had 1, 4, 2, and 2 > $100K signs (2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 respectively)
I believe that we've also found value on the last day in slot signings such as JB Wendelken, Carlos Asuaje, Joe Gunkel, Karsten Whitson, Jalen Beeks, Chandler Shepherd, Bobby Poyner, Kyri Washington and Andrew Noviello.
Because of our financial obligations thus far, we may only have 1 > $100K sign if any, but I'm sure that we can find some decent picks at the $100K range. If nothing else we can still draft top remaining players to keep them from other teams with larger budgets remaining.

Guys have seen both up close have probably noticed resemblance also.

Just wanted to say that MLB needs to get draft on TV for all of the draft. What's the point of having your own network and than having draft only online?

BA write-up:
An Arizona commit, Quintana is the latest top prospect from the Las Vegas area. He hit his way onto USA Baseball's 18U team last summer, where he primarily played third base. He hit just .225 but showed a line-drive swing and good gap power, and he has done that throughout most of his prep career. Quintana has some present strength in his 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame, to go with quick hands and bat speed that allow him to lash line drives to all fields. He had a dominant spring for Arbor View High, where he played shortstop. He's likely to move off the spot as a pro, with scouts mentioning second base, third base and catcher as possibilities. He worked behind the plate during Tournament of Stars, even flashing some sub-2.0-second pop times, though he has an average arm. His brother Zack pitches in the Braves system and was the Brewers' 2012 third-round pick. Nick is a below-average but aggressive runner whose bat could get him off the board in the first three rounds.

#107 by MLB
The younger brother of Braves pitching farmhand Zach, this Quintana will make it to the next level with his bat. Most feel he's going to hit, but the question of where he profiles defensively has limited his Draft stock.
A member of the U.S. 18 and under national team that won gold in Japan last September, Quintana had a monster senior season that saw him shatter his school's home run record, previously held by his brother. While there is some swing and miss to his game, many scouts love Quintana's explosive bat speed, which should translate to continued power as a pro. A well below-average runner, no one projects Quintana to stay at shortstop, his high school position. Some see an offensive-minded second baseman in the future and some teams have asked Quintana to work out behind the plate, where his above-average arm could work well.
Quintana gets extremely high marks for his makeup and he's been willingly accommodating team's requests to try different positions. That, plus his bat, are what could get him off the board in the first three or four rounds.

If the Sox don't sign Groome you need a backup plan.

Matthew Gorst, RHP, Georgia Tech #462 on BA

BA write-up:
Gorst gave no indications he was headed for one of the best seasons in Georgia Tech history. He had 7.59 and 4.81 ERAs in his first two seasons, with 48 walks and 48 strikeouts. He had surgery to remove bone spurs in his elbow in the offseason, though, added a cutter to go with his 88-92 mph fastball in the fall, and took off in the spring. His 0.55 ERA would be a Tech record if he had one more inning of work to qualify. He pounds the zone (13 walks in 49 IP), competes well and has some deception in his delivery to complete the package.

If the Sox don't sign Groome you need a backup plan. It could be that, but they've also had since yesterday evening to identify a steal at or near 100k value. They typically end up signing their 11-20 round picks.

So a little of both. They do well in rounds 11-20 of late.

Brady Brammlet is the pick, but can't find him on any of the lists.
