Koji here? Really? Man, not a good choice. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I knew there was a reason I kept watching this game.

If the Rangers come back and win this, they really did do a deal with the devil.

Perhaps the best win of the season. What a comeback, and vintage Koji slammed the door.

And I know it was just a double, but Sandy Leon's was the AB of the game.

The last two games have been huge wins. Those were games they should have lost but they won. It's great to see them flipping the script. Glad we got to see vintage closer Koji one more time.

And I know it was just a double, but Sandy Leon's was the AB of the game. Nothing against Leon who has been swinging a very hot bat and was totally amazing in the AB tonight, but Farrell has been pinch-hitting for Vazquez every chance he gets. That tells you what he thinks of his offensive prowess. Not that I always agree with Farrell, but in this case, I think he has it assessed correctly.

I hope sometime soon that Swihart gets very reconsidered as the catcher of the future again.

Good game. The fat lady never sang, and Fielder certainly didn't on that last at bat.
Bradley and Betts are racing each other to see who gets to 4 WAR first. That will probably happen before the halfway mark. Amazing.

Dang I missed it. I don't see any Farrell negative decisions posted...so i am going to count this as a one run game that Sox won because of some great managing. Nice win for our nine and screw the MFY.

Wow! What a comeback. Betts is amazing!
Price should wear a paper bag on his head for the next four days.

I will say that I did leave the gamethread after the first inning or so of the last two games. Maybe I'll see you guys for the first 1-2 innings tomorrow.

I hope sometime soon that Swihart gets very reconsidered as the catcher of the future again. Why? The rotation they have is working fine. Both catchers have multi-hit games over the last few weeks. And Vazquez has been very good with Wright. Those wishing for Swihart behind the plate have very short memories. He isn't close to the guys they have back there right now.

Swihart has some work in AAA to do to improve his catching, but at some point in 2017 if Vazquez hasn't progressed as a hitter and if they haven't traded him, I hope Swihart is given a real shot at becoming the catcher. I think he has the capability of becoming an average defensive catcher. And he also has the capability of being one of the best hitting catchers in baseball and yeah, the bar is set real low there. We'll see how it plays out in the future. For now it's Vazquez and Leon and eventually they'll have to make a decision between Leon and Hanigan.

If they had done that with Bradley or Bogaerts when they struggled where would the team be now? He was laid up for a year and that does mean something, all the short-term thinking aside.
Add: Leon has made that decision for them. He's had the classic catchers' trajectory, maturing in his mid/late 20s. Hanigan is likely trade-bait at this point. Serviceable backstops always have value, even those with noodle bats.

Weird night.
So my friends and I went out in West Hartford, none of us were too drunk. My girlfriend is somehow hammered to the point where she needs to go home. Lightweight, but I digress...
I reluctantly take her home, change her, and put her to bed. I turn on the Sox game. Two pitches later, Mookie goes yard. The rest, is history topped with Koji, who I seriously can never stay mad at.
Great f**king game, great night. I have no complaints. Hope you boys can say the same!
