Arizona has surplus of outfielders after signing Ross to 3 year deal. Towers keeps dangling Upton who has highest trade value. Texas is most likely destination if Upton is traded as they have young prospects and giant hole in lineup after losing Hamilton. Boston has been rumored to be interested in past discussions.
As Sox GM, what would you be willing to give up for Upton?
I'd be willing to trade Bradley, Cecchini and one of Morales, Bailey, Ranaudo which would provide Arizona with potential replacement All Star outfielder, starting 3rd baseman and a pitcher with upside. I'd try desperately not to include Bogaerts or Barnes, but might have to substitute one of them in a trade.
After the Hanrahan trade seems like BC is looking to go for it this year. Sox could be a 90+ win team with Upton in the lineup.

Let me ask you, as one who is in San Diego, why are the D-Backs so willing to trade Justin Upton?
This question was asked in another thread. But I wonder, for what reason the Diamondbacks have tried to move him for two seasons? Are there behaviour issues? What are they saying in SoCal, NL West, about any potential problems?
I'd love to have his bat and talents on our team. He's had three productive seasons in the Bigs with an All Star selection. The package you suggested is reasonable, though I'd prefer to substitute Brentz for Bradley, for a talent like Upton.
Edit: Got NL West teams crossed.

Let me ask you, as one who is in San Diego, why are the Padres so willing to trade Justin Upton? This question was asked in another thread. But I wonder, for what reason the Padres have tried to move him for two seasons? Are there behviour issues? What are they saying in SoCal about any potential problems. I'd love to have his bat and talents on our team. He's had three productive seasons in the Bigs with an All Star selection. The package you suggested is reasonable for a talent like Upton. I'm sure the Padres would love to have the option to trade Justin Upton.

Justin Upton, San Diego? All these different Justin Upton threads are getting confusing. I haven't seen/read anything about him going to San Diego and then being traded to Boston.

There are already two threads on Upton in this in the trade proposal subforum. Unless a credible rumor emerges that the Red Sox are interested in trading for him, all Upton discussion should go there.
