“@peteabe: Dave Dombrowski says the #RedSox will send a scout to watch Tim Tebow’s workout.”

I don't know why they're even bothering but OK.

I'm thinking 4-5m dollar bonus. Start him in Greenville and put him on the fast track.

I don't know why they're even bothering but OK. Baseball needs to connect with a broader audience. Remember this?

I don't know why they're even bothering but OK. Agree. He's a great athlete and he was apparently very good in high school, but that was a long time ago. He's 29 now. He's not going to fly through the minors, and on the off chance he's good enough to advance at all, he'll get to the majors on the other side of 30. Don't see the point.

He sucked at football, his chosen sport. Now he wants to show the world he sucks at baseball, too? Whatever. I think the Sox are going just for the laughs.
He's a circus act, that's it.

Before I get too upset, after the draft, trade deadline, and approaching the waiver deadline, do scouts really have anything significantly more important to be doing between now and the offseason?

Goes without saying but this is a complete waste of time. The Tebow media love has been one of the more annoying narratives of our time IMO.

Of all the deepjohn obsessions, this one is probably the most inexplicable.

One of comedy's all-time great scenes. "Lennie, *you* will have saved the lives of MILLIONS of registered voters..."

Don't know why all the skepticism, he'll be great. When he isn't able to throw the ball accurately, he'll be a "mobile outfielder" and try to advance the ball by running it into the infield.
Proven winner.

In retrospect it's pretty embarrassing how much time and energy ESPN dedicated to making Tim Tebow a thing. Actually, it was pretty embarrassing at the time too.

ESPN is an embarrassment and has been for years. It's a very successful money making operation but the quality of their work overall is embarrassing.
