Well there it is. Down again in order in the 9th, and we have one of those offensive letdowns and lose, 1-0, with Buchholz being the hard-luck loser, and .....
Oh wait .....

It looks like it absolutely sucks to face this dude as a left-handed batter.

Another great win. Game balls to Buch and the rookie.

Benny's a horrible dancer! That's like a 20 on a scouting scale.

Not to be greedy, but there's more family business still to be settled...I'd like to see the Red Sox follow up on the NYY four game throat-punch, by sweeping BAL, to send them reeling...
...oh...and a four game lead over TOR, come Sept 30th,please; whatever that "magic number" is, I'd like to see that go to zero by then, setting up for a Fenway/Papi Lovefest, that final regular season series, as the Sox set their rotation for CLE!

We're one game back of Cleveland in the loss column and I expect that we'll end up at least tied with them. Given that the first tiebreaker is record within your own division, we would get home field in the first round. It's even possible that we'll pass Texas. They're two in front of us but they're losing tonight. We need to beat them outright because a tiebreaker would go to them. Beating the Rangers for best record would match us up against the WC team in the first round. More to smile about: The division clincher could very well come at MFY Stadium next week. Nice setting for it.

Sept 21, 2016 Hey, Telson - a month or so later, I think she's really "going", now! :-)

If Pormeranz continues to suck, you can make an argument that he shouldn't even be on the PS roster. For the first round, you'd probably go with 11 P's but you could in fact get away with 10. Four starters plus: 5. Kimbrel 6. Koji 7. Barnes 8. Zieg 9. Kelly 10. Ross 11. Scott or Taz

JF on NESN postgame, on Scott coming in v Davis, esp (per Tom Caron twitter) -
"Farrell indicated that tonight was a sort of trial run for @robbyscott36 to be team's situational LHP. Struck out Davis, passed the test" ...w/ JF saying "he couldn't have done any better".

Playoff roster relievers - is Scott a lock (I am thinking he should be) - and should the decision be between Barnes and Taz? similar stats, Taz seems to be slightly better lately.

The Camden faithful were a pretty defeated lot ... pretty subdued most of the game. The one time they really got up and into it was when Brach was facing Leon. Then the fight just went right out of them, and Benny stuck the dagger. Fun inning.
I've now seen Benintendi live in two games this season, and he's homered in both, 3 levels apart (A+ to major leagues).

Once Holt returns I would like to see him play 3b a bunch during the last week of the season. Shaw and Hill both are not getting in done. Shaw looked great for those 3 or 4 games after Moncada was called up but it seems he has fallen back into old habits. His at bats are too often unproductive. I think Holt will provide greater value in his at bats during the postseason than Shaw would at this point.
